There's only so much you can expect with regular street tires, on any track. What kind of car were you running there before?

Very true. Especially when it's pollen season at the track

I've ran a v6 stang, genesis coupe, 2 hemi rams, and now this stang there over the past 3 and a half years or so

One thing you have to consider, your higher power level now, but even moreso, that damned 4.17 first gear. A good 6R80 car with stock converter and gear will 60' in the lower 1.8s.

Not only more power and gear but he was running 40 lbs of air. To the op get some tires, a tune and lower the damn air pressure. If you don't get traction then you can bitch about track prep until then I thing the blame is mainly on you.

Blown, all I said is the tires weren't sticking and popping like I'm used to when rolling up to the line. My truck tires were running 45-50 and would still stick and pop. I didn't say omg I was spinning all over the track, actually I felt like my car hooked pretty good compared to the streets

I know to lower pressure but I'm not time slip chasing with this car, there's no point

The truck tires also had much more weight loaded on then when you launched.

Not to mention the truck has less power and gearing.

I'm talking about going from the water box to the staging my tires would stick and pop cause of the vht, not launching

Anyways, I'm happy with what the car ran lol. Next time out will be after I tune it, then that'll probably be the end till I get my suspension/tires figured out at the far end of the track

kdanner 01-14-2014 10:34 PM

Tire and tune will run 11s. We did it at that shitty San Antonio track, will be easier at the river.

From what I've researched running no cats isn't a big deal as the engine only adds fuel on decel to help cool the cats.
