oh no! hope it all works out in the end!

garner 11-07-2013 12:57 PM

Got cut off, hit brakes while in a big puddle, hydroplaned into barrier, bounced off a little and tapped the other car into the barrier. Volvo only had paint scuffs from what I saw but mine had moderate damage

http://i1024.photobucket.com/albums/...psbd51c6f3.jpg

Front driver wheel missing a big chunk, at least alignment messed up(steering wheel between 1/4 and 1/2 turn with wheels straight), then body damage

maxpayne 11-07-2013 01:23 PM

So sorry to hear that my man. Good luck with getting it back to where it was. That freaking SUCKS!!!!!

garner 11-07-2013 11:50 PM

Thanks guys. Car should start getting torn apart tomorrow for an estimate, I'm guessing $5000 easy just based on what previous vehicles have needed and have cost at this shop. Plus the tricoat paint is gonna be expensive

Stupid f1 race at cota kept me from getting a rental this morning like promised, and they say I should have one in the morning but for all I know it may be a little yaris :/ lol

Dominic Toretto 11-07-2013 11:53 PM

Gayness but, glad you were not hurt.

garner 11-08-2013 07:00 PM

Thanks

Just got off the phone with geico, $5600 is the initial estimate on repairs. Now to wait for the estimate to get into my email, and start looking to see what can be modded

garner 11-11-2013 01:58 AM

Warning, never fuck up a 13+ headlight. Almost $1,000 for a new one. Glad I'm not paying that lol

DirtyD 11-11-2013 10:10 AM

Yup. You can find them for cheap though. There is one here on Dallas Craigslist that is like $350.

garner 11-13-2013 12:26 AM

Wow that's really cheap

Ugh car got delayed a week minimum. American muscle has none of my wheels in stock

Get some better wheels. :)

garner 11-13-2013 02:01 AM

Haha I wish. But I gotta save money for other things

At least the jetta rental is a decent car so I can live with it for another week

No kidding. I originally was going to buy their staggered 19s black bullet wheels. They had the 19X10s but when I ordered the 19X8.5s, they were out of stock. That was months ago and still not in stock. I went with a different set of wheels all together.

-Alex

garner 11-13-2013 01:50 PM

Ugh I hope that isn't true for these ones. Guess I should've kept the stock wheels

If the wheels were advertised on the website as "in stock" or if you ordered with a person over the phone, you are good to go. I've never had a problem buying stuff from them. Good people.

-Alex

garner 11-13-2013 01:56 PM

It's the body shop/geico doing the ordering and they said they were out of stock. Just called am and the guy said end of the year :/ Guess I gotta go Craigslist searching for some wheels so that my car can get out of the shop

Get some avant Garde m310s. Almost the same price

garner 11-13-2013 03:55 PM

Should've purchased the SVE Drifts from LRS and they would be right here in state. :)

garner 11-13-2013 04:27 PM

Ehh. At least I only paid $750 for the current set with tires

garner 11-16-2013 12:00 AM

Ugh why must nobody make a splitter similar to the laguna seca one? $2300 for a splitter and install kit is insane!

garner 11-20-2013 07:34 PM

Supposedly wheel is in route and car should be done friday. Ugh I've never had a collision repair take this long. F U american muscle

garner 11-22-2013 08:37 PM

Still nothing. AM will be getting a call monday and if they can't give me an ETA or tracking number then I'll be ordering the 10th anniversary from late model. 16 days waiting on 1 wheel is ridiculous!

Just do it now before stock runs out!

garner 11-22-2013 09:32 PM

True!

Anthracite or black for mine? Width doesn't matter

garner 11-22-2013 09:58 PM

Nevermind. Sold out :(

Black and anthracite. Chrome was still like $400ish

Edit: Chrome is $650

Hahahahaaaa, I've been waiting on two wheels for a few months... no several months now. Whoever is their wheel manufacturer is worthless.

The 18x9/10 chrome set was $200 earlier. It's normally $650 was was on sale for $200.

garner 11-22-2013 11:08 PM

That's for sure. You would figure they would keep everything in stock. I wonder how much money they've lost from it

May have just been close out stock. Message Tony and see if they have anymore. It may just show out of stock until after the weekend.

garner 11-25-2013 03:50 PM

Probably gonna sell the rtr reps anyways. I was a dumbass that didn't research the sumitomo tires to find out they're summer tires. So I'm gonna get motivo but they don't come in 245/45/19 and 275/40/19 so I'd have to go shorter or taller(which neither appeal to me)

I'm fighting a losing battle with this car lol

Look into the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. They have been said to be excellent all season tires. But honestly, you should be fine driving on a summer tire.

Dominic Toretto 11-25-2013 04:12 PM

I only drive on Ultra High Performance Summer tires. Year round. Did it with the Corvette and Supra.

I agree with this. Being down here we don't get much bad weather(snow/ice) but about two days a year so there's no reason to have "winter" tires.

Even with that, I drive in rain, ice etc. I hardly ever take a day off, and the key is not driving like a jackass :). I've never had problems with traction in bad weather as long as I keep it safe.

I'll look into those, thanks

I'm just so used to all season tires I like the safety net. Plus I need as much traction in all weather as I can get in this car, after coming from big somewhat slow trucks

garner 11-29-2013 11:23 PM

Well ordered hood struts and billet grilles from american muscle, then black 3.7 badges from latemodel. Camaros will never suspect a thing
