I'm just so used to all season tires I like the safety net. Plus I need as much traction in all weather as I can get in this car, after coming from big somewhat slow trucks

All season tires use a harder compound, so it's harder to get traction because it's not as soft. You'd honestly be better off traction wise with summer tires. Some summer tires have just as good of wet handling, if not better than all seasons. No need to worry about ice here

BV600 11-30-2013 03:36 PM

Get something really sticky you will be fine in TX.
I DD all my cars with DRs and just recently my Z06 and was in OK for some pretty crappy weather this year and it was fine.

garner 12-02-2013 02:53 PM

Amr wheels are finally in stock!! Now let's see if I can get my car back before the 30 day mark

Idk how I've survived this long without it

garner 12-13-2013 02:48 PM

Body shop is running out of indoor storage so car is getting towed back to the house till repairs can be finished

They sure have taken their time...

garner 12-13-2013 03:49 PM

Not really. Only repairs left are mounting wheel(still not here) with tire and alignment

Looks like Discount Tire in your garage lol.

garner 12-15-2013 03:09 PM

Haha never thought of that

Changed my mod plans on the first page. Went away from speed, and more towards appearance and interior comfort since they better fit my goals/driving style at the present time

garner 12-23-2013 02:06 PM

Wheel is here, on the car, and it's going to the alignment shop now

garner 12-23-2013 06:37 PM

Wow this car feels huge compared to the jetta, almost like a truck. Can't wait till I get used to the car again

Well hood struts and grilles are going to be returned, not enough change for the money. Plus I don't feel like removing a freshly painted bumper and unbolting the hood. Money will be going towards stripes instead

Get the Redline hood struts instead. You don't have to remove the hood to install them. Then return the grill for stripes.

garner 12-31-2013 07:59 PM

I'll have to look into those. Sadly return shipping was like $50 so that takes 1/4 out of my refund

But installed my 3.7 sleeper badges and green mustang registry decal today. Also deleted sound tube and removed the engine cover and strut tower brace

DirtyD 01-01-2014 04:04 AM

Those hood struts cost you $200? Shit, I paint like $140 for the redline struts painted.

garner 01-01-2014 06:03 AM

No. Grilles and hood struts

3.7 badges on a 5.0... why? And what brand hood struts did you purchase? Sorry if I missed that but, I didn't see it if it was posted.

What Corvette does he have?

-Alex

garner 01-03-2014 02:40 PM

C7 non z51

DirtyD 01-03-2014 03:28 PM

You will lose no matter what

Crimson600+HP 01-03-2014 07:37 PM

Mustangs tend to need almost 50HP more (possibly more) to compete with Corvettes based on my experience. On a back straight with an aggressive cammed C6 Z06 I was able to creep on him with the ProCharger. They are really lightweight, slip through the air, and can hook up very well.

garner 01-03-2014 10:20 PM

That's why I said I need power adders

garner 01-07-2014 02:16 AM

Lovin the new exhaust! Except neighbors are hating me and I'm sure I'll have some complainers knocking at my door in a couple days

Friday gonna talk to an exhaust shop about finishing running the exhaust out the back or possibly cervini style

re-rx7 01-07-2014 08:15 AM

Drag racing is a different story as far as racing vettes is concerned.

And almost everyone who isn't American. Still fun though between road race sessions.

On topic though running an exhaust like that will get very tiring to the ears over time though. Hopefully this isn't a DD car brother.

garner 01-19-2014 12:39 AM

It's a DD but my commute got cut drastically so it'll maybe see 300 miles a month till may

garner 01-19-2014 05:48 PM

The smell is getting to me over this past week. I can even smell it in the kitchen

It's the tune if it's THAT strong.

garner 01-20-2014 06:20 PM

I'm sure it's overfueling like crazy. Hopefully I'll have a tuner by Friday or so. I was at sonic yesterday and my mpg went from 17 down to 15 just waiting on my food

garner 01-21-2014 04:59 PM

Might be getting some 20" weld wheels depending on what weld can tell me about them

Edit: Deal fell through. Went on Craigslist to get his number and he posted another ad for triple the price. Turns out he found out what he had

garner 01-23-2014 08:21 PM

Well car mods are in limbo till I get more definite news of whether or not the mustang will be able to support the new job coming in a couple months. I really hope I can keep it but no clue

KurvStr8nr 01-23-2014 11:22 PM

With all the car mods you like to do, isn't it the other way around?

i.e. will the job be able to support the mustang?

:)

garner 01-24-2014 02:35 PM

Haha I think it will but never know with it being commission based

But I'm such a liar about mods being on hold. Saw sublime302's car and think I might do the opposite scheme of his(white wheels on green car, yes I know they'll get filthy easily) with either my current wheels or the 20" niche gt-5 I saw on svtp. Anybody know how much they weigh?

Then a buddy talked me into looking at the h&r supersport springs again. Also think I might sand down the GT on the faux fuel cap(instead of having to buy a whole v6 panel) then repaint or redip it
