Would I need a helmet to run? Since the Mach has been tuned I wouldn't mind seeing what it (and I) can do on street tires since I've never drag raced and neither has the Mach in it's current form. If I'm in town this weekend I definitely would like to go down there, especially since so many people are gonna be going.

I think 14.0 and faster needs a helmet.... i can bring an extra one if anyone needs to borrow one.

Also make sure to wear pants or you cannot run. Found that out the hard way...

The last time we were out there I was in shorts, no helmet running mid 12's in the misty rain. The tech/safety seems to be hit and miss.

I'm bringing my closed face MX helmet just in case tech decides to actually do something. Temps should be cooler, so hopefully I won't die of dehydration in jeans.

Wear shorts and bring a pair of sweatpants to pull over your shorts. Then you can take them off between runs. ;)

That's probably because you were running 15's..... LOL!

This, except I bought basketball break-away pants which are super light (and probably very flamable! Lol). Tech has always let me race with them at every track I've been to. I just leave them in my helmet bag so I always am set when I race.

I'll be there, hopefully in the stang, if not I'll still come for the shit talking and racing. lol

Phuck Phace 08-14-2013 02:05 PM

Looks to be a damn good event. I'll be heading out there too as long as it's not more than 150 miles round trip. That's all I get out of 1 tank of the corn. I might just ride with somebody.

Edit:

Google Maps shows 50.5 miles going straight down 35E to 287. You should be able to make it. If not, just stop in Mansfield on the way down there and fill up again before Ennis, then bring an extra 5 gal container to store some safety corn in.
