Oh, Ok. If I go anything over like 2500 my avg absolutely sucks. I usually can get in 6th around 40 barely keeping from bogging. I usually only do that if I'm looking for the EPA's rated mileage. Lol.

I go 2-6 normally. Shifting around 2000-2100. I usually throw it in 6th above 45, but if I'm going to be going from stop light to stop light, I'll keep it in 5th up to 50

I skip gears (1,2,4,6 or 1,3,5,6), but I get on it quite a bit too. One problem is if everyone here is paying attention to what the computer says, I am typically 4 or 5 mph higher when I calculate it by hand then what the avg shows on the clock. Also, the peeps not running 3.73s should be higher than that.

I tried skip shifting, I don't like the feel when I put it in gear from 1st to 3rd or 2nd to 4th. Going from something low to fairly high isnt very smooth.

You just need to drive a manual trans for longer, that comes from experience.

Coppell is filled with soccer mom's, idiots, tourists, and light after light. For the most part I either want to be in front or behind all of that, given the powerband that skipping leaves you with, I tend to avoid doing it. 2-4 and once we're rolling 4th to 6th.. Try just that.. with 3.73's i can land low 17's, but I have to really try.. I'm more of a mid 14 - low 15 driver.

That may be why mine does so well, my power band is much different and as long as I'm not on the throttle I'm not in boost. Makes it easier to skip gears all the time. Sounds like everyone just needs to boost their cars :head3:
