I've thought about it before and I've got several ideas. I'd have to talk to some sponsors about prizes and money. There is already some amazing events that take place in Texas - Texas Mile, T.I, Tx2k etc..

Arguably, Texas has some of the fastest street cars in the country. I think there is an opening for another event that is much like the old True Street event from the Fun Ford Weekend events but would have to have MUCH stricter rules to make them all actual street cars rather than race cars in disguise.

agreed, I was thinking more of a DFW50s/non retarded dfwm svtp gtg, no prizes or awards, just organizing a legal race/show gtg. Kinda like Brooks does with his cruises, but at an actual non ghetto track.

We'll see what happens. It sounds like Taxman has a pretty good hookup though and a good history with what his club did. Besides, you don't have anything to race right now. lol.

We arent racing at Christmas are we? If we arent (which you already said we wont), I will have the 928 running in a week, the vert just needs a tune which takes a few hours, and if we wait till spring, Ill have my C6... so dont worry about what I will be racing, I plan to be there if its a real track.:High 5:

Not showing up at Denton to slide around for 300 feet and hit the brakes.:emotions34:

I'm cool with wherever Steve. I'd much rather run the 1/4 for sure, but I enjoy the 1/8th too. They do a pretty good job of track prep in Denton now.

I will look into a 1/4 mile track rental, but cost and scheduling are going to be the primary concerns scheduling a group event. So whatever works out best for the members of both clubs is what will happen.

Look into your contact, get some details and then let me know what you find out. If your group had a good experience with your event then I see no reason not to consider that as well. :)
