A few guys went to kennedale today and it was a good time. Made about 10 runs and my best was 8.3 at 88mph. need to work on my launching but thats just with practice.

Well shit, that would have been fun. I would have been down for that.
8.3 is a good starting point. Danny is going 7.9's with nothing more than an axleback. So you've got some room to go there, Nick! |
i started at 8.7

Who is in the white one?

What did Eric run?
|
I didn't. I was on BFG street tires, decided I would go make 1 pass and then the GT-R in front of me laid an oil slick down the track. Waited 15 minutes for a clean up and decided it probably wasn't a good idea to take 800 rw down the track pedaling and risk hitting oil, so I backed out and parked.
|
where are your pics? lol
|
Oh, do I need to upload those?

You bastard.

Nice 1/4 mile time Nick!
|
I forgot to turn traction control back on and literally spun all the way to 3rd so I just babied it the rest of the way
|
Good runs. Wife's GT up here at high elevation runs 8.5@85 looking at the slips. That is 12.9-13.0 in the 1/4.

You need to turn off traction control the entire time.
|
Not doing that... Until I get drag radials

Kennedale is a pretty shitty prepped track.

Did you do burnouts Nic? Need to warm up the tires a little.
|
all I have are vids and pics of Nick being drug
|
You don't want to do a "burnout" on a street radial. Just a quick clutch dump to get a little warmth on them. They're not the right compound for doing a sustained burnout, that will not help traction.

LULZ
You can definitely tell though the mods he has done pull like a raped ape up top. He might trap mid 12s in a 1/4 only because of how high he can spin that motor now. |

Coming from years of racing Fox bodies, these cars are so easy to drive. I know this is your first "faster" car so I'll cut you a break and not break your balls too much. lol. How did you do your burnout? Short/long? Drive through the water? Burnout in the water? How much air pressure? Powershift? |

Racing on a radial is dicey. You have to find a sweet spot in the clutch and what rate to squeeze the go pedal. By squeeze, I mean just that. Don't stomp it, don't feather it because that will just induce more wheel spin. Definetly don't powershift on radials unless you want to find yourself in the wall on a cold night. lol. |
Just dumped the clutch in first quick. Tire pressure left the same, had to drive through the water no where else to go. I have a video from Derek's go pro ill upload tomorrow
My suspension is not setup for drag either |
