Well shit, that would have been fun. I would have been down for that.

8.3 is a good starting point. Danny is going 7.9's with nothing more than an axleback. So you've got some room to go there, Nick!

Midnight11 01-27-2013 11:37 PM

i started at 8.7

Phuck Phace 01-27-2013 11:49 PM

DirtyD 01-28-2013 12:01 AM

What did Eric run?

Emwun Garand 01-28-2013 12:04 AM

I didn't. I was on BFG street tires, decided I would go make 1 pass and then the GT-R in front of me laid an oil slick down the track. Waited 15 minutes for a clean up and decided it probably wasn't a good idea to take 800 rw down the track pedaling and risk hitting oil, so I backed out and parked.

Midnight11 01-28-2013 12:04 AM

where are your pics? lol

Emwun Garand 01-28-2013 12:11 AM

Oh, do I need to upload those?

LOL, on those BFGs, hell no.

You bastard.

Phuck Phace 01-28-2013 12:27 AM

Nice 1/4 mile time Nick!

Midnight11 01-28-2013 12:31 AM

I forgot to turn traction control back on and literally spun all the way to 3rd so I just babied it the rest of the way

unreal 01-28-2013 12:31 AM

Good runs. Wife's GT up here at high elevation runs 8.5@85 looking at the slips. That is 12.9-13.0 in the 1/4.

I would've slashed his tires then beat him.

LOL @ spinning all the way through 3rd with a 425rw car. You need some seat time in that car because there is no reason you can't get that car to hook.

Midnight11 01-28-2013 01:02 AM

And when the front was facing the other lane I cut it off haha

OG Fox 01-28-2013 01:05 AM

You need to turn off traction control the entire time.

Midnight11 01-28-2013 01:07 AM

Not doing that... Until I get drag radials

Kennedale is a pretty shitty prepped track.

Did you do burnouts Nic? Need to warm up the tires a little.

Emwun Garand 01-28-2013 01:09 AM

all I have are vids and pics of Nick being drug

Emwun Garand 01-28-2013 01:10 AM

You don't want to do a "burnout" on a street radial. Just a quick clutch dump to get a little warmth on them. They're not the right compound for doing a sustained burnout, that will not help traction.

LULZ

You can definitely tell though the mods he has done pull like a raped ape up top. He might trap mid 12s in a 1/4 only because of how high he can spin that motor now.

Oh. Well you saved me from doing so. I figure any warming of the tire would help. Thanks for that, Eric.

LOL, yeah that is a good time to bail out. No need to be one of those macho idiots to don't lift and wreck their shit.

Coming from years of racing Fox bodies, these cars are so easy to drive. I know this is your first "faster" car so I'll cut you a break and not break your balls too much. lol.

How did you do your burnout?
Short/long?
Drive through the water?
Burnout in the water?
How much air pressure?
Powershift?

Agreed. A doing a burnout on a radial is pointless. They aren't soft enough to do anything with the heat, the sidewalls don't give at all etc. In fact, a lot of times it makes it worse by making them feel greasy.

Racing on a radial is dicey. You have to find a sweet spot in the clutch and what rate to squeeze the go pedal. By squeeze, I mean just that. Don't stomp it, don't feather it because that will just induce more wheel spin. Definetly don't powershift on radials unless you want to find yourself in the wall on a cold night. lol.

Midnight11 01-28-2013 01:18 AM

Just dumped the clutch in first quick. Tire pressure left the same, had to drive through the water no where else to go. I have a video from Derek's go pro ill upload tomorrow

My suspension is not setup for drag either

Really, there was nowhere to drive around the water box?
