Open FREE Track Day At Eagles Canyon Raceway Saturday 2/2

No Cars and Coffee for me Saturday, I'll be doing this:

**OPEN FREE TRACK DAY AT EAGLES CANYON RACEWAY THIS SATURDAY**

This coming Saturday, we will be hosting a FREE track day experience at Eagles Canyon Raceway, directly after Cars and Coffee. The track day will consist of lead and follow groups. We will be hosting open "sporty" street cars to full race cars from 11AM until dark on Saturday.

This is a FREE chance to explore the track, get a feel for what road racing is all about. We are allowing sports to sporty type cars, street cars to full blown race cars, to get out on track behind a pace car to engage in some high-level touring around the track. A possible full open "hot" track session for full race cars might take place, as well, this is also a Eagles Canyon Raceway member day, so you'll see some cars in action throughout the day

We will have classroom time in the clubhouse before each session to explain everything to you, as well as the ECR grill fired up! We'll call it "Cars and Lunch, at ECR".

So come out, spectate, join in, enjoy the afternoon... weather is calling for mid 60s/sunny!

I'm so pissed because I want to go to this, but not still on my stock struts...maybe next time.

Real 01-31-2013 12:30 PM

^Why is that bad? I don't know 5.0s

JDBishopArts 01-31-2013 12:36 PM

Struts won't cause you too much trouble. It's not ideal but you shouldn't hurt them. Just be prepared to buy new pads soon after this. lol

46Tbird 01-31-2013 12:51 PM

Here is what one aggressive session at CoE can do to a stock set of pads.

If you don't take the LS I'm calling into work and "borrowing" it for a day. I know where you park it lol

I'm pretty sure my struts are on their last leg with my lowering springs. Waiting to install my Tokicos before I do much.

The Lincoln is going to be my road race machine. The BossLS is the new daily.

Grandpa 01-31-2013 02:32 PM

Man, this would be a lot of fun!

Real 01-31-2013 04:28 PM

Soooo who's coming with me?!?

Tork 02-01-2013 01:11 AM

I'm planning to go.

saunupe1911 02-01-2013 11:01 AM

Ordered my Stop Techs yesterday and it will be a few weeks before I get them. I'm just nervous about going on my stock brakes. I'm tempted like crazy though!

brtnstrns 02-01-2013 11:49 AM

Damn, I'm so close to have the Mach ready. This would be awesome to test out the IRS but the car isn't aligned or tuned and the chances of breaking the crappy QA1 k-member and a-arms is probably pretty high.

Toby 02-02-2013 12:10 AM

Wish I could make it..

merlinmol 02-02-2013 01:54 AM

Won't be going :( sucks so bad because I have wanted to throw the car on a track....

Real 02-04-2013 02:49 PM

I had fun!

Did they limit you to speed while you were there?

No they didn't even tech cars.... I got up to 113mph with traffic, I could have gone faster but didn't for safety. You couldn't pass the pace car, but we did pass cars that were going dangerously slow or had crap lines....

That's what she said. They're having another run later this month for $150 with an instructor for each participant.

Pepperinyoureye 02-04-2013 10:14 PM

Which car were you in? I remember following a gotta have it green 13 during one of the run groups. I was in the black Roush.

Pepperinyoureye 02-04-2013 10:29 PM

OK I remember you now lol your the guy that pulled off course when the Porsche spun right? Definitely ended up being a pretty fun event.

Yes, the Porsche owner is my friend. Hell he was there because I invited him (he'd never tracked before) so I felt compelled to stop. His wife thanked me for stopping and seeing to him. Track etiquette aside I think I did the right thing making sure he was ok.
