I'm still trying to figure out why those things are so damn expensive.

As for mods, I'll probably try and do rims and tires next. Then start on the suspension

Willing to bet that a stock driveshaft from Ford would be more expensive.

My next mod will likely be another car.

JDMLOL 10-12-2013 11:14 PM

Aluminum driveshaft with safety loops.

Sieran 10-13-2013 12:09 AM

Whatever the hell fixes the ticking/creaking under my car.

Maybe but $800 seems a little pricey.

BLK2012GT 10-13-2013 12:28 AM

More nitrous bottles. Lol

Kaane 10-13-2013 12:54 AM

Forged Motor, since mine blew up yesterday.

kdanner 10-13-2013 01:46 AM

8.50 legal cage is probably next.

Jucostud 10-13-2013 03:56 AM

Sway bars, uca and mount, and brembo's.

Jucostud 10-13-2013 03:57 AM

Then seats

You're going to the wrong place if you're getting quoted 800 for a DS. :)

03MachMe 10-13-2013 04:57 AM

either shock and struts, brembos, or rims and tires for the track. which ever I can find first when I get the cash

Yagermeister 10-13-2013 07:32 AM

New daily tires and maybe new DR's also

Call David at Shaftmasters and you'll get great customer service, a great product, and a d/s with no NVH much cheaper than that

I'm guessing this had something to do with it:

Didn't last long. I guess that answers my question about which to do first when I can afford forced induction.

G-Mann 10-13-2013 10:31 AM

I'd like to get some springs, struts , mounts and a sway bar or save the cash for a down payment on a next gen. Should know in about 6mths. FI would be next on the list and a daily beater.

re-rx7 10-13-2013 10:40 AM

Koni's,
Frpp p springs

DirtyD 10-13-2013 10:56 AM

Full Amsoil fluids and Modal 600 or DOT 5 brake fluid.

maxpayne 10-13-2013 11:56 AM

Ordering a set of 18" by 10" sve drifts with nitto tires tomorrow. Springs, panhard, struts/shocks, and miscellaneous is next at Christmas for a 1" or 1.5" drop - haven't decided yet.

Y'all think 10" wide wheels on the front will stick out bad, or if at all?

Looks like i cracked a piston during a 5th gear pull on the freeway. Getting white smoke and way too much blow by. e85 and stock fuel pump not so good.

Good news is I did not window the block, so I can re use it. Will pull it out and send it to MMR for their 1000hp setup.

New fuel system and clutch as well. Should be good for a while after this.

I bet that check engine light is glowing lol. Which piston you thinking?

Kaane 10-13-2013 12:11 PM

Driver Side for sure, So I am guessing 8.

I will pull the plugs soon and take a look.

Funny thing other than smoke, You can't really tell. It still drives normal, no sounds of any kind and no check engine light. It dumped half a quart of oil through the breather though.

Barely any. At Idle there is like 5% extra vibration you can kind of feel it.

5HIFT3D 10-13-2013 02:48 PM

Dan12GT 10-13-2013 05:18 PM

Well that was quick Kane. You could have gotten a lot of money out of your intact stock motor. Good luck with the rebuild.

Anywho my next mod I am indecisive about either doing Koni ST.Ts or Yellows. (nearly $1000 vs $500)

Ah I see.

garner 10-13-2013 08:24 PM

I'm trying to decide that on mine. It's between a tuner, cutouts, leather seats, and graphics/paint work. Just depends on how much a lawyer and my dog are gonna cost me lol
