Inspection

I need to get my Foxbody inspected. Can someone send me a PM with a "friendly" location? I'm in Allen.

Send me info if you get it. Lol

Have you even tried to get it done, just go in and see? My car passed while running the HPP tune (ran like shit on the street, but screamed at the track) and then did not pass with the GH tune (good manners everywhere). I ended up doing the Ford Recommended ODBII drive cycle test (google it, and follow it to the letter) to get mine to pass.

Speaking of inspection....

Since WHEN did they say the shops had to drive them? I mean, maybe it's not a big deal, but I don't like ANYBODY else driving my car. I'm glad I don't have my GTO still with the big cam and expensive clutch- I'd be PISSED if they screwed it up.

If it's not a Texas law and it's only the place I've been taking it I will IMMEDIATELY stop going to Riley's Lube in Boyd.

Slow Five-O 02-04-2014 09:16 PM

It's been like that for a long time as far as i know.

Gotta check the brakes.

GTOphil 02-04-2014 10:39 PM

Ugh...I hate that then. It's a good thing they didn't do that when I had my GTO...

Last thing I need is some old lady burning up my Monter clutch and bucking the car with the cam in it. :025:

This is for my 1991. I've got a lead on one. Should know in the next few days.

My bad, didn't even see that. What's keeping it from passing? I thought you put her back to stock.

Doug1227 02-05-2014 01:04 AM

I did. Missing some components...

My car is exempt if you could count higher than six. The sticker is for the vert so my dad can drive it legally, as he moves back Friday. He gets the shakes not driving a fully legal car.:jester:

Would you mind PM'ing me as well. Got a 02V6 that's constantly showing not ready status for the cats and the evap.

Evap could be a bad gas cap. You not gonna try the spacer/non-fouler trick?

BeastStang1302 02-05-2014 11:25 PM

Well I went AutoZone and bought the non-foulers. But then online they say to drill 1/2 inch into them but that's way to wide and goes into the threading. But I still messed up some the threading drilling 5/8. So need to go buy another set now lol. When are you free buddy, might need your expertise.

I tried the store-bought non-fouler trick first on my gti but the threading wasn't deep enough. I ended up getting a custom spacer off Amazon for 16 dollars. Go to Oreilly's if you want to make the store-bought non-foulers work. There are two different part numbers, both by the brand Help! I believe. One is longer than the other. The longer ones are the ones you want. I will need to do this same exercise on my car come October, I'm going to buy the ones off Amazon though.

Inspection

Didnt they go more hardcore on emissions this year? I never have had a place visually inspect for cats and my computer has never thrown any codes. But my friend told me the fines and penalties for the inspector passing a faulty car got crazy this year.

My tint is darker than legal so I usually just roll up with widows down and they dont bother checking. It is only 20% sigh
