Hot Rod Power Tour

Any of you Kats going on the Power tour this year?....Starts in Dallas...

I got a buddy shipping his Shelby down from NY and we are gonna convoy...

Grandpa 12-20-2012 12:36 PM

Yup. Wont miss it :)

Phuck Phace 12-20-2012 12:42 PM

Hmmmm

BLK2012GT 12-20-2012 01:10 PM

When? Where?

STROKD 12-20-2012 01:37 PM

Yea when is it, June? If my dad retired, maybe we can finally go on one, probably take the c6 unless he wants to tune the Mustang finally and the AC is repaired, or the Road Runner gets painted...

STROKD 12-20-2012 01:41 PM

I looked this up for the confused ones like myself:

Saturday June 1: Arlington, TX

(but you knew that already, right?)

Sunday June 2: Texarkana, AR

(Texarkana is a city in two states, half Texas, half Arkansas.)

Monday June 3: Little Rock, AR

(Ever heard of the “Climber Motorcar”? It’s the only car ever manufactured in Arkansas. Maybe we’ll see one!)

Tuesday June 4: Memphis, TN

(Elvis and BBQ, what more do you need?)

Wednesday June 5: Birmingham (Hoover), AL

(The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is worth a visit!)

Thursday June 6: Chattanooga, TN

(The home of Coker Tire, you can expect a warm welcome here.)

Friday June 7: Charlotte, NC

(If you don’t know why Charlotte, NC is a cool place for car fans, you might be reading the wrong website.)

Man, what do they convoy at about 15 mph? or do they drive 2 hours and party in the parking lot the rest of the time? Arlington to Texarkana is like a 3 hour drive... Texarkanna to Little Rock is maybe 2-3 hours...:hahano:

arlington! whoop! lol

Grandpa 12-20-2012 01:48 PM

Well, it looks like there is finally a good reason to visit Arlington. lol.

Eventually I would like to do the Long Haul, but it won't be anytime soon.

Damn my wife's last day of school is June 7..... maybe in 2014

Yea your family situation wont allow it... My dad and I have been talking about it for over 10 years... which car, when, where, etc. If he isn't working which it seems likely he won't be (just let go), then no time like the present. Problem is we dont really have a cool car that is "done" to take... the Road Runner painted would be sweet, but it has a stall issue, and the Stang doesnt have AC or run for damn.

Maybe we just take the C6, it will be the most comfortable (but common and boring).

In for going to ghetto ass Arlington.

LOL, that doesn't keep me from doing anything. There is this thing called grandparents and aunts/uncles to babysit. They can't get enough of that stuff.

Burn. LOL

I really want to do the trip to Texarkana at least. Maybe take a few days of vacation and hang out in Hot Springs with the girlfriend.

I did three leg of the Power tour in 09 in my 08 Mustang GT. It was a common car but I still had a great time. I enjoyed the drive and seeing all the nice cars. Chattanooga and Coker Tire is a really cool event. I wouldn't hesitate to take a C6......Its also a great experience for you and your dad.

white5.0 12-20-2012 03:54 PM

I believe Cars and Coffee is on Saturday too......there should be a ton of cars in the DFW area that Saturday.

Will be the only car I trust to take besides the wife's C5, and she wont let me put 2000+ miles on it without her going. lol

ProCharge5.0 12-21-2012 03:52 PM

I did the last two days of it this year. The plan is to do the long haul in 2013

Phuck Phace 12-21-2012 04:00 PM

I wonder if there E85 available along the route.

You can't even get 93 in Oklahoma.
