New from Irving - But not a 5.0 :(

Hi all,

Name is Nate, 23y/m - recently relocated to Texas for my new job. Was a fan of imports ever since little but when I saw the new Mustang, I couldn't resist my hands on it. Just bought a new 2014 v6 black on black w/performance pkg. It's my first Mustang as well as my first brand new car. I am very happy with my purchase and still have a long way to go to learn. Excited to join the community if you guys would permit.

I am fully aware this is a 5.0 club, but I thought I would give it a shot and try squeezing a 3.7 in here.

If this forum is exclusively and exclusively only for 5.0's, mods, feel free to delete this thread.

P.S. - Would love to tag along a social event in the DFW area.

Thanks,
Nate

Welcome, I've got a 4.0L and they've yet to delete my threads so I think we're ok.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes! On another note.. I can't wait to do my first mod! I'm looking at the Flowmaster Force II's on my 3.7.

Any perspectives on the Flowmasters?

Someone delete this ^ guy, ain't go no time for that!

Selcouth 06-09-2013 10:34 AM

Welcome and just make yourself at home. When you have a moment click on over to the rides sections and start a progress/build thread.

PS- I have a 5.0, but it might as well be a 4 cylinder cause that's how it feels when I stomp on the gas. I'm willing to bet your V6 is quite a bit faster than my mustang.

Welcome! 3.7s are still great! As for the exhaust I'd highly recommend the roush. Ask TheLandShark he has them himself. They sound great and are ready loud. We both work in Irving at Westway ford if u ever have the time come visit us and I'm sure he will let u hear the roush for yourself.

RedRedemption 06-14-2013 06:15 PM

Welcome man! I got 3.7l also so don't be too hard on yourself! Especially when you get some gears and some tunes, it really wakes the car up!

moor3r 06-15-2013 11:14 AM

Welcome!

Varilux 06-15-2013 12:26 PM

Welcome! If you're ever at a show and someone gives you grief about having the 3.7, you might want to point out that- at 305hp you're just 1hp shy of the original Shelby GT350 (which put out 306hp IIRC).

My '65 has the inline 6 (200ci), and let's just say Ford has come a loooong way with the 6cyl platform (I would speculate I'm putting <100hp to the rear wheels- and that's with a rebuild, electronic ignition, and a new cam)!

Enjoy!
