What color you going with?

Matte black. I thought the gloss decklid/tail lights and vent hoods would pop nicely on it. As well as small amount of chrome around the car. Also probably going to put like a cobra jet decal on it without the cobra jet wording and change the eyes. Plan on putting a cobra jet intake on it with some sort of turbo in the future so it should all tie together.

Some progress pics.

Thanks! I'm getting it done at Titan Wraps in Lewisville. Definitely recommend them! Great prices and high quality materials and work. Also free removal if you ever decide to sell it.

What are they charging you?

I'm paying around 2k. But it really depends on what you do. I'm getting graphics down both sides of my car so it cost more(+$200ish). Another example is I know chrome colors cost more. They also give you discounts if you prep it like I did (-$150) also if you allow them to put a logo somewhere of your choice (-$200). They can even put it on your back window if you don't want it on the car. Easiest thing to do is to make an appointment and get a quick quote. Call Justin if you're interested, mention my car and he should give you a good deal. (214) 901-6703

Reaper 09-24-2014 06:45 PM

Front needs to settle over night so has not been trimmed yet.

Thinking about tinting that third brake light... What do y'all think? Also got the decklid wrapped gloss black hopefully to cut down on fingerprints on that thing...

That's bad ass. My brother in law does wraps down in Bryan/CS and almost has me talked into wrapping my roof and hood in textured carbon fiber to hide the little rock chips. I'd almost rather do that than the stripes.

saunupe1911 09-26-2014 02:31 PM

Please no decal or stripes. Just leave her the way she is.... Clean.

I'd take him up on that. As long as you get a family discount lol. It should help prevent anymore rock chips and those are the biggest spots the sun hits so you'd protect the paint.

NAVAG 09-26-2014 05:58 PM

A good day spent washing and polishing always seems to cure my itch to change the exterior. Just like my wheels...I have the black gt premium wheels and most days I don't like them. I can't explain what it is that I don't like and I spend a lot of time looking at different wheels on the internet and right when I get ready to buy some I'll wash my car and they look OK.

All it would cost me is the material and a case of coldies. I think he said it comes in 5 foot wide rolls and is something like 15 bucks a foot for the textured carbon fiber. Next time I'm down there I'll hit him up for some samples.

I've debated on this a lot but I think I'm going to like how it all comes out.

They aren't that bad right now. Washed the car the other day. Lol. Thinking of wheel spacers in the back might help . I don't know why they bother me. I thought they were bad ass when I bought the car. It might be black wheels on a black car that just don't look right to me.

PullingBrodies710 09-26-2014 09:19 PM

Looks great

Reaper 10-04-2014 12:22 AM

Sorry for dark pics. Didn't get the car back till late at night. Will have better pictures later. But this is the decal!

Looks pretty cool, but the chrome 5.0 back looks out of place to me. Black it out?

Yeah I'm hoping it will look better out in the sun. I do have the chrome lug nuts and center caps along with the chrome on the decklid and exhaust. I can't decide maybe in the future.

rriddle3 10-04-2014 04:34 PM

A CJ decal, huh? That's a mighty big check your car just wrote. I hope it can cash it.

Kaane 10-04-2014 05:06 PM

Out of all the colors why black lol? You already had a black car. Why not be different?

Not quite. We took a shelby snake and fitted it on and also moved it down to take up the whole side rocker. No other car has this decal. The closest I'm going to get to a CJ is the intake and cams I'm putting on in the future. Oh and there isn't "COBRA JET" on the sides...

Well I picked black to begin with because I like it. Why change it? As you can see my chopper is matte black too lol. Im going to customize my vehicles to my taste, simple as that. Also the mirrors and hood vents worked perfectly with the matte. I'd like to think this car is different. I don't think I'll see another exactly the same.

OK, but it is still a CJ image. Here are some pics:

I think he used the CJ surround not sure. But nothing else.
EDIT: Actually no he started from scratch. Also noticed the tips on the back don't match up to the original either, the belly curves at the bottom and the eyes are completely different from the cobra jet. I think if i was trying to make my car a cobra jet i would of changed my 5.0 badges, my decklid emblem, use the cobra jet logo, install the cobra jet quarter window panels, put an off center strip down the center of the car and not have done many of the exterior mods i've done. Thats only if i was… not really the case here though.

I love how it came out though. Very stealthy just how i imagined. Will post better pics sometime this month. Thanks for the compliments guys.

NAVAG 10-05-2014 11:29 AM

I like it.

Monolith 10-06-2014 09:33 AM

I'm curious how it will hold up...I had a friend wrap his bike and he regretted it a few months later because a rock chip opened a spot on the wrap and then it just peeled back away from it in the wind...that was a few years back and wrap has come a long way since then...so hoping it holds up better...

Regardless...it does look awesome!

You and me both. Lol Felt like pretty durable stuff though. The rocks would have to go through it first to hit the paint. I know it comes with a warranty but can't remember how long at the moment. Otherwise you would have to pay to get that section re wrapped. Thinking about getting a bra for longer trips.

EDIT: Just ordered a Colgan bra for longer trips. Cant be too safe!

NAVAG 10-06-2014 11:33 PM

63K miles in 2 years. I have little rock chips all over my hood.

I ordered my colgan bra from autoanything.com and used this 16% coupon FRMTUNDRA16 if you're interested.

I'll check it out. They arent all that noticable except to me. To me they look hideous. What I should do is save a couple grand and buy a beater to do all my daily driving with. That will help with the rock chips and milage.

LOL! That's exactly what I'm trying to do... My biggest fear is hail damage...

Clrd2lnd 10-08-2014 10:56 AM

I haven’t had a bra on a car since my 1986 firebird formula! I don’t think I have ever seen a coyote with one on.
