Saturday night recap

What an amazing turnout! Thanks so much to everyone who came out. Those of you who didn't show really missed out. I didn't get an exact count, but was easily 25 cars or more.

It was really good to see the usual faces and a lot of new faces too! It was a great time hanging out with everyone and I look forward to the next time. Nice weather is coming up before long and we will be having more events.

So how did you do? Post up your results!

It's a good thing you have the driver mod, Clint. ;)

That Boss is BADASS! I could see he was getting the hang of it more as the night went on. That thing is nasty!

Thanks Steve but I could not get Jeff's car down the track very well, 4500rpms and car would bog, 4800 bog, 5000 and holy sh*t knocked tires off in first and second. Car at street car weight has a 11.20 pretty easy with tires. Go on a diet and better weather and 10.9 on motor should be possible.

J shoots car was getting it all night, he was really getting the launches down and shift it like a pro!!

Had a great time guys, good to see all of you guys

JDBishopArts 08-18-2013 12:15 PM

My best was 11.91 at 113 still spinning a little. 1.9 60ft. I ran 4th all the way out and had to even go into 5th to keep the MPH up. My highest MPH was 118.

You think 11.20's is possible with a 119 trap?

For the stock pulley on 20's with crappy prep, I think you were doing great!

When people are running 11.9 at 113 why wouldn't my car run low 11's at 119?

Doug1227 08-18-2013 12:28 PM

11.2 @ 125 with a 1.69 60'. Still have a few areas that need addressed, but getting better. Backed it p with an 11.3@125 later on.

Happier with the new shifts this time, Doug?

Luke 08-18-2013 12:37 PM

12.29@113 with a 1.91 60' was my best. That was a 7.96 1/8th though so I was happy with it.

Doug1227 08-18-2013 12:38 PM

Happier, yes. Happy, not yet. Still tapped the rev limiter in first and short shifted 4th. Fix those plus a little more traction and I'll be happy. Gonna look over the datalogs today.

Midnight11 08-18-2013 12:39 PM

i had fun racing luke. best was a 12.6 at 118

You are having fun and that is what counts. :)

BLK2012GT 08-18-2013 01:03 PM

I had a great time. I really miss going to the track and running it. Can't wait to go again and hopefully have new wheels and better tires.

46Tbird 08-18-2013 01:36 PM

We left at 10. I've never seen any track that bad in my whole life. Not sure x275 track prep is gonna work with street tires. Hopefully you guys with slicks were running good.

DirtyD 08-18-2013 01:42 PM

I had a blast as well. Definitely need seat time.

Best times were my last two passes.

13.247 @ 110.54, 2.221 60'
13.273 @ 109.16, 2.210 60'

BLK2012GT 08-18-2013 01:47 PM

Track wasn't that great or at least I thought. My car was spinning 1st and 2nd and finally grabbed in 3rd. The white boss was running slicks and he was cutting 1.5's 60ft

When we gonna race? :happy107:

Phuck Phace 08-18-2013 02:00 PM

Nice seeing everyone. Best cars to watch were JShoot vs Trans Am and also that pewter S10. Worst car all night was that "Cross Talk" Firebird.

Sieran 08-18-2013 02:01 PM

My best two were:

14.363 @ 193.52, 2.362 60'
13.912 @ 105.45, 2.291 60'

For sure, I made 3 hot laps in the car to find out the clutch, rpm, ect. Car was warm, clutch was warm, 119 on 3rd pass is pretty good. Car should run in the 122-124 without hot lapping it and better air

That Firebird was sad. The run he had against me was a 12.3 @ 108. Lol

More bark than bite for sure.

That run would have been faster for me but I ran out of 4th and kept my foot down instead of going into 5th. I should have made the shift.

Dark Pony 08-18-2013 08:32 PM

It was an awesome turnout! Good to see so many people come out for the festivities. My best run was 12.5 at 115 blowing the tires off in first. Traction alone would have got me close to the 11's.

Taxman 08-18-2013 09:07 PM

Definitely cool seeing so many people out there. We need fucking nametags with our screen names or something. I don't know who half of you are on the board.

Track prep was great for slicks. I ran a 12.2 @ 111 with a 1.66 60' time. I'm not sure why I trapped so low. I think I may have let off before the traps. I was having issues with my new clutch, so I was distracted focusing on that. I'm hoping to be in the 11's next time out there.

Yeah, there was definitely a lot of new faces. I was all over the place trying to talk to as many people as possible. Sorry we didn't get to hang much. I saw a couple of your passes. Your car was making some crazy noises on the shifts!

That first pass was me hitting the rev limiter cuz I was locked out of second and third. LOL

J.Shoot 08-18-2013 09:50 PM

Had a great time talking to and meeting you guys. Enjoyed running the car in the 1/4 for the first time. Can't wait to get back that way and do it again.

Oxford14Stang 08-19-2013 01:41 AM

Yeah, as shitty as my times were I was 100% focused on the launch. Josh Bishop told me to basically come out of the hole at idle and ride the clutch in first to get 60' time down. I ran a 13.2 @ 113 the first time down(and my first going down a 1/4 track) and ran 13.1s every time after that at 110 if I remember correctly. but most importantly I got my 60' down to 2.1's using Josh's advice on the stock 235's next time I go out I'll try a few other things and focus on the tree/ET and see what she's got. I'd love to run 12.6-12.7 on the stock tires.. I knows its possibly just have to find the sweet spot

Same here. I know my car should be good for low 12s as it sits on street tires. I just need the practice.

Yeah with your setup (basically mine) and your tires I could def. see your car running low 12s easily. What were you launching at?
