AST or Bilstien?
 

When I get home on leave I am planning on coming to vorshlag and doing full suspension. I cannot decide on whether or not I want the Bilstien or the AST.

I am leaning towards the AST, I did talk to Jason briefly via email but our connectivity out to see sucks ass. I DD the car but if its going to be a little stiffer on the AST im fine with that. I want suspension that I can pretty much do whatever I want with. be it drag, roll, or road course runs. I figure a good suspension and sticky tires can go a long way with all three.

Who hear is running the AST kit? any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

There are a few people in the DFW area with ASTs on their car. And if you wanted to ride in one I'd show up at a track day at ECR. But if you only want written feedback, you might jump over to S197Forum and ask there. Lots of track guys on the Corner Carving subforum there.

yea I would love to be able to hit a track day up and get a ride in one. unfortunately im sitting on my ass in Dubai lol. I need to hurry up and get back stateside. This overseas crap is for the birds.

ill take a look at s197 and see what I can find over there.

I've got AST's, and you can ride along at a Dallas autox whenever you want if I'm there. You can't ride with me at ECR, as I don't have instructor status.

You don't need instructor status at ECR you just need to be DE 3 or above.

so is that yellow in the ECR parlance?

I appreciate that! unfortunately I am in Dubai and will not be back home until march timeframe as it looks now.

now who is going to steal csamsh's Mustang? lol

Send a PM to hddcrasher. I rode in his car and he has the Bilstein setup from Vorshlag and he autocrosses. Ride was extremely compliant. Firm, yet very comfortable as well. Definitely impressed. I'm sure some of it was attributed to the tires he is running as well.

Hey if you steal the car, I happen to be around, and it can go around the track for a somewhat reduced amount of moneys, steal away Jerry!
