What's the difference between a wet plate kit and a nozzle kit? Which is better? What's the max shot you could/should run on a stock motor? How long does a 10lb bottle last in highway pulls?

Not sure what you mean by nozzle kit, as wet and dry kits both use nozzles, aka jets, to inject the nitrous. A wet kit injects the nitrous directly into the cylinder, mixing it with fuel and air at the same time as spark. A dry kit injects the nitrous into the intake manifold (typically) which then enters the cylinder fairly mixed, and I THINK (correct me if wrong) is a more efficient burn.

I would do no more than 100 shot on a stock motor, just for safety.

A 10# bottle should last a couple of runs I think.

A reg nozzle sprays in one spot in the intake tract. Dry is nitrous only, wet is fuel and nitrous out the same nozzle.

A plate usually goes behind the throttle body like a spacer. It atomizes MUCH better than a nozzle and usually is safer since the spray bars in the plate are better at injecting the mist vs a single nozzle. This is the setup Vic and I had on our 08 Vettes and neither of us hurt anything.

On your car, I'd run a 150 shot and pull 6 degrees of timing. You also will want a window switch, bottle heater, and a remote bottle opener.

On a 150 shot, a 10# bottle will last about 5-8 pulls depending how fast u go.. The longer the race, the more spray u will use.

Derek, I think he's talking about the plate kit which mounts on the throttle body as opposed to the nozzle which goes in the intake tube.

Zeek, a lot of guys are running 100-125 and running good numbers and seem to feel safe about doing so. I haven't heard reports of high mileage 5.0's with nitrous so it's hard to say how safe it is. Best bet would be to be ask your tuner and research some of the other forums that have a lot more nitrous info. I have the NX plate kit and will probably end up going with about a 125 shot. It all depends on what time's I'll be running though.

Ok good info. I think I'd go with a plate kit. Whenever if I do this it will be also with e85. Any downsides of e85 NOS combo?

Not sure what our vendors here can do, you can check with them and see if they can get you a better price.

Downside would be injectors but you can find those fairly cheap. And depending on what you originally planned on spraying you'll need spark plugs. I'm not sure how the jetting would change, that's something I'll have to look into as well.

Edit: Just found a post from one of the Nitrous Outlet guys saying you WILL need a better pump or BAP.

A plate system will hit a little harder is is IMO a cleaner install. The nozzle will require you to drill a hole in your induction to mount the nozzle where the plate is a bolt on and can be easily reversed.

I have that kit, I've heard people like Nitrous Outlet too, I'm going to pick up their switch panel.

How do you like it? Pics? Are you using a window switch?

Haven't even finished putting it on, I was home on R&R for a couple weeks and went to install it all a few days before I left then realized there was no throttle body gasket.

There is actually nothing to see, the intake cover hides the plate and lines, there was only a small (about 6") portion of line that could be seen and I used some factory looking wire loom to cover it up. The bottle sits where the spare tire goes and the trunk mat sits flush.

I bought the NX accessory kit in the link I posted above and the MSD window switch. If you already have a bottle or can find one cheap, you can actually buy the NX kit for a little cheaper without it, I didn't know this at the time.
