New hot rod (Warning - Non Ford content inside)

Most of ya'll probably won't even know what this is, but I bought this earlier today. I'd been looking for something to replace the '82 Capri RS I sold last week and found this up in Indianapolis.

1972 Plymouth Scamp with a built 440, Torqueflite 727 trans and a 9" rear end with 3.89's. Car makes 540/600 and it weighs 2900, so it should be pretty fun to drive. Just a weekend cruiser.

Doing the paperwork and bank transfers early next week, it should be on the truck heading towards Texas by next Friday, so hopefully I'll have her by early the following week.

Not a bad way to spend $50k.

That is cool as the other side of the pillow my friend! My mother had one when I was a kid, but it only had a slant 6. I love old iron!

Thanks y'all. Looking forward to driving a car with a big cam in it for the first time in years.

And she was under $16k delivered.

Awesome! I've always liked the scamps. Almost got one a few years ago, I'm jealous!

Awesome. I don't know what those usually go for but that seems like a sweet deal judging from the pics and description.

The Scamps have never had a big following. If it was a Dart Swinger (the Dodge version), it would go for another $4k to $5k all day long. I've always liked the underdogs though.

Will do man, I'm sure I will too.

Goofy story (Hemi Cuda related) - when I was 18, I was driving a '68 Charger R/T (440, 4 speed, Dana rear). Clean enough car, it started life as a Bright Green car with dark green interior. It ran good and had been a great driver, but, as always, I wanted something different. Found an ad in the Star Telegram (way before the internet, or even Auto Trader) that said 1970 Barracuda, will trade for big block Mopar car. Answered the ad and it turned out to be a true Hemi car in need of much love. Black with a black interior, 4 speed, still had the Dana, it was mostly there, but it barely ran. Of course, I made the trade, not knowing what I was getting into. Turned out I was in WAY over my head, both mechanically and financially. I never really drove the car, but I did manage to sell it for quite a profit (at the time, anyway), getting right at $6000 for her (had about half that in the Charger). The rarest of the rare Cudas, and I actually, albeit briefly, owned one. Still kick myself about that one from time to time!

Well damn. Just looking at the amount of cleanliness and such, I figured it was pretty pricey. Not bad at all friend.

I'm surprised the car is so light.
