DFW50's fastest Stangs..

With so many new people coming in all the time, I'm wondering, who are the fastest Stangs on the board these days?

We know a few of them and they usually don't run more than they do. I'm curious to know who are some of the faster ones with actual cars that are in running condition?

Dominic Toretto 04-21-2014 12:30 PM

Always thought it would be nifty to have a sticky thread to maintain with people's track times and mods. Post ticket results to keep everyone honest.

Nice!

Junkie 04-21-2014 12:49 PM

Alex Turner is the fastest one I've seen at any meets.

Dominic Toretto 04-21-2014 12:52 PM

I know this maybe asking quite a bit but, would it be possible to have people post times from road race and auto cross events? I've never done it, so not sure if you get a print out like you do for drag.

To be technical, I think Ronnie would be the fastest Stang on the board as a whole. But as far as 5.0's go, you are probably right.

Are we talking about from LOLroll?

Not looking to make it on any list just curious how i would stack up against these newer cars with my old bucket.

Midnight11 04-21-2014 01:00 PM

Doug I believe has one of the fastest times

Doesn't matter. Dig, roll. I'm just making general conversation.

J shoot boss went a 10.50 at 138 I believe last year.

Mine went 10.20's at 140 last time out at MIR. With a 100 shot to help out the blower. Doesn't count at all anymore since it's been returned to stock, but she was pretty quick at one time.

Grandpa 04-21-2014 07:30 PM

Yup. Doesnt count anymore.lol

rlhay2 04-21-2014 09:33 PM

Last time I was at Dallas Raceway, I coasted through the lights at a 10.12 at ~140mph.

I let off just past the 1000' mark as the car started spinning the tires and got sideways. I hope to hit Ennis before the summer heat gets here. I should get in one "glory pass" before I get booted out.

With 138mph trap, there is plenty more ET left in it.

Doug1227 04-24-2014 10:26 PM

Mine has been 10.51 @134 with a very early 1-2 shift. That was before my last round of mods and about 90 hp lower than I am now. Hoping for some solid 9's at 140+ Next time out.

Doug1227 04-24-2014 11:19 PM

Cool! I didn't know about tht one! On the stock motor?! Lol! Nice!

Yes Sir! Needed a hero run for her swan song. I had a feeling I was done with her and wanted to go out on a high note before returning her to stock. Now to see what the 43 year old thing can do.

It would be hard to make any reference point out of autocross times, because the course changes every event. I usually just compare to other mustangs at the event to judge my performance. Road races venues on the other hand can be a good judge, but for most track days transponders aren't rented and even for race weekends like NASA put on transponders are only rented to HPDE 3/4 participants and issued to actual racers. So most times you get will be from phone apps being used by the car owners. Ok on the accuracy but not exactly standardized.

I ran TWS this past weekend with NASA and my best lap was a 2:09, saw 137mph on the big straight. That was a first. I recently upgraded my 2006 to a 2012, so I haven't raced MSR or ECR yet in the new ride. Should be much quicker than previously.

Dark Pony 04-30-2014 10:33 PM

Swapping to 3.27's and E85 next week. I'm hoping the ET's will yield a mid 10 in the mid 130's

Doug1227 05-01-2014 02:12 PM

^We'll see how fast you can row that thing! :)

Yeah, I'm definitely going to need some seat time. I know what it's capable of and I'm not scared to drive the shit out of it to get the time.

On a side note, I want to see what your car runs!
