LOL, I'll be cool one day.

Nice ride Slow Five-0

Slow Five-O 01-03-2014 08:52 PM

Thanks. I like to think it's a sleeper rolling around on the bullitts lol. Full interior minus back seat.

Nothing like a clean 93 cobra though. Love it.

My car is past trying to be a sleeper, it doesnt matter what wheels I have on it, the -12 fuel line and 3 inch pipes out the back show its intent before anyone gets near it to hear the fuel pump.:)

The vert on the other hand looks like a 14 second car, which is fun to scare people with.

Not sure what the vert runs but i know it's got enough hp to qualify as a sleeper!
Too many people know your hatch haha

I dont know either to be honest. Its pullied the same as my 86 was, but has a 351 short stroke in it (big bore 331), baby 185 AFRs, and a Comp 274 cam. My dad tried to build it to be street legal in Ca, where he was living 10 years ago when the motor was built... When you look under the hood, it looks like a basic 302 HCI setup.

With a fuel pump it can make over 1000, but to be honest, its a gd convertible with no roll bar... it is a GR40 so it has bracing throughout the car, but it has large door panels for the stereo and no room for a side bar. 600-700 rw is really all that car needs, and it is close. Im going to pulley it up a little once she gets some miles on it, hoping to be right around 625 on pure 93 with no meth. I think it will run 10s @ 130, since I hung door to door with a 93 Fox that ran a 10.49 @ 130 from a roll and a stop. :smoke2:

Grandpa 01-04-2014 12:18 PM

That vert is a turd not to mention its crazy ugly with its janky busted up paint job from Earl Schieb and 6 inch cowl hood straight outta garland. That car might make 475rw on a good day when it aint spittin and sputtering from its shit ass tune from you tuning it while you're drunk. I bet any bolt on 5.0 here could beat it!

My vert went 10.8's @ 128 on 550/580 through a built AOD and 3.27 gears @ ~3400 with me in it...on a 17" DR. 10.5's at 130 should be no problem.

X2 i may be a little lighter, but I'm doing 6.40's on the foot brake with a stock block 347. Hoping to get a little lower with the transbrake this year. With that hp you should get there no problem even taking it a little easy out of the hole.

Junkie, love those cars. Still planning something for the coupe or selling?

blownaltered 01-05-2014 04:39 PM

Hell I don't even have a picture of my old turd. Once I get some I will post them up

STROKD 01-05-2014 08:58 PM

Doug and Mason, believe me or not, the car weighs over 3800 with me in it... so that sacrifices a lot in the ole hp/weight ratio a fox body normally has.

Damn i had no idea they were that heavy. Mine has no back seat and a couple other small things but i hope it's around 3100. Stock k member everything under dash and working order plus a 6pt cage with swing out bars.

He's talking about the vert. That's what mine weighs as well. If you want a light fox buy a coupe, I like cruising with the top down so Ill take the weight.

bird_dog0347 01-06-2014 10:42 AM

My Fox... 92 Coupe 5.0/5spd with a Black interior. Not much done to the engine, just explorer intake, long tubes and ORH, under drive pulleys. I've been focused on brakes/suspension since I got it cause it was total crap. Up front it now has SN95 cobra brakes, new booster/master/manual prop valve, 95 front spindles, Tokico front struts, Eibach sportlines, new poly sway bushings, poly front control arm bushings, and ball joints. Out back I took out the old SN95 disk rear with crappy gears and I'm installing a 04 Cobra IRS with cobra rear brakes. The rear Eibach springs I have won't work with the IRS so I'll need to either find the rears to match or I will just cut the stock springs to get it level until I can buy the Coil over kit for the whole thing from MM.

I really need to get my ass out to the garage and finish it up. Right now I need to drop the gas tank so I can drill the holes for the rear IRS mount and bolt it on. Then I need to finish the brake hard lines for the rear. I have the tubing and connectors I need as well as the MM braided soft lines. Then I really just have to reassemble the IRS and put the tank back on and it'll be ready to go.

Here's what she looked like last time I drove her.

As donnie said, the convertibles are pretty heavy. That and this one has full griggs, double subframes (upper and lower) extra bracing, torque arm, pan hard, larger brakes, and a pretty heavy stereo with double sound deadening throughout, and heavy aftermarket heated and cooled seats. Sub and box weighs bout 85 lbs by itself, and if you saw the door panels you would understand where the weight comes from. Thats also with an alum motor and a blower... i wish it was lighter but it is what it is.

That thing would look so dope with some Mach 5's (brushed centers/polished lips) in 18's and a 315 tire on the rear. *drool*

Well once Beau pm me back I am working on getting the trunk smoothed and painted. The Mach 5s are definitely on the list. I almost ordered them so I could take the car to Vegas like that but doing a 5 lug swap plus that is more than I want to spend while the wife is back in school

You can get them in 4 lug with hidden hardware so no one could tell it's still four lug if you really were stuck on staying four lug. Converting to 5 lug can be done pretty cheap though.

Best inexpensive wheel that is four lug is the Pony R. The original Cobra wheels are bad ass too but look wierd without the long axles in back.

You could get a set of those for under a grand, rock those till you are ready to do 5 lug.

gip99gt 01-10-2014 01:09 PM

4-lug staggered chrome SC wheels 8's and 9's

blownaltered 01-10-2014 01:22 PM

Here is the ultimate question. If I don't plan on road racing or running at the strip is there a real benefit to 5 lug? I can upgrade to a four lug rear disc and put better calipers in the front for better braking. I am just curious on what people opinions are on that.

gip99gt 01-10-2014 03:31 PM

I thought about it on several cars, but never got around to doing it. 5-lug gives you a lot of wheel choices. I'm satisfied with 4-lug wheels, they have came a long way since 16x7 factory pony wheels. lol
