Welcome man! I've noticed you around SVTP, but for some reason thought you had already signed up here.
Waco used to have a decent scene a couple years ago. It kind of fell off though. I think you should talk with LRS about trying to get a weekly GTG there at their shop or something just to see if the scene can take off again.
