I missed buying this car by a few days back before Christmas, and then, well, got involved with the blower project and all and just kind of forgot about her. The new owner PM'd me over at FEP and said he was thinking of selling her (he's in the military and is getting a new '13 GT), so I went and looked at her again, made an offer, and will be bringing her home tomorrow morning.
She's a 1982 Capri RS, with just 55,000 miles on the clock, sporting a fire breathing 302 HO with original 2 bbl carb making all of 157 HP. Sends all those ponies out back through an SROD 4 speed manual box. Except for the battery, radiator cap and plug wires, she is 100% bone stock under the hood.
The interior is Porno red and is damn near perfect. The only thing that doesn't work is the a/c and that probably just needs a charge. Has the original am/fm/8 track Premium sound system, and power locks.
The paint is completely original and like many silver cars Ford built in the 80's, there is no shine at all left on the car. I can buff a lot of it back, but there are places where the primer is showing through, so a paint job is in her future for sure. Interpart "Chastain" rear window louvers and original Turbine hubcaps complete the exterior.
All in all, I really wasn't looking for a restoration project, but this car is too nice to let someone hack up.
