Texas Motor Speedway Honors first responders on 9/11
Yesterday I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in an event held by Texas Motor Speedway to honor first responders. There were 44 first responders that were invited to come to the speedway and do a Team Texas driving experience. We got to meet Sprint Cup driver Kevin Harvick and then drive an authentic NASCAR for ten laps around TMS. I was honored to be in the same group as a couple of the West FD, Moore OK FD, and Granbury officer Chad Davis. The driving experience was was like nothing I have ever done. I have done tons of racing but nothing like this. It was nice to know that there are still people out there who appreciate what we do after dealing with the ones who don't like us as much every day, especially on a day where twelve years ago so many of our brothers and sisters gave the ultimate sacrifice. Ok enough from me here are some of the pictures.
Then as we were leaving the Formula Drift crews were setting up for the weekend. The Ford racing truck was already there so Josh and I got some cool photos with the truck. The driver even gave us some shirts!!
