Default HOLY CRAP! I think my shifts are fixed!

Manny sent me a new tune today with the shift points adjusted. As you guys probably already know, it was hitting the rev limiter at 7700 before shifting from 1st to 2nd. I just tried it on the street and it boiled the drag radials through first, hit second, kept spinning and was about halfway through 2nd before it grabbed. That was on MT DR's! It's NEVER done that before. It would hit the limiter, bang a few times, hit 2nd and chirp the tires and hook. Anyone that's driven on DR's knows that the car will still pull pretty hard on the street even with them spinning a bit. I don't know how long that mark was on the road, but HOLY MOLY! Man, I hope this thing will hook with a hot DR at the track! HELL YEAH!

I'll need to make a couple of passes to fine tune it, but it's not hitting the limiter and I can move the shift point + or - 3 mph as needed at the track. Now I just hope it will hook. These 19" MT's can be tricky!

He should be feeling high 6's. Mine went 7 flat in bad air, and I guarantee that auto will be faster than mine now that the shift points are right.

We'll see. Best time to date has been 7.5@ 96. I've data logged the shift problem and have an idea of how much it was losing. The unknown is how much of an impact it was having on 1/4 mile times and mph. Y'know how reducing 60' times has a compounding effect on ET? My shift problems were so early in the run, I'd have to think I'll get better than a 1 to 1 reduction. Make sense? I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

You should, and you will. I'm more worried about those DR's than anything else. Usually, you need a bit more sidewall to take the initial hit and absorb some of the tire shock, but with the stock convertor in place, maybe it won't be that bad.

I wasn't too worried about them until yesterday. It's cut 1.68 60's on them before and fairly consistently. I've still got a few tricks up my sleeve to get it to hook that I haven't even tried yet since it was having shift issues. Nothing special, but things that I haven't tried since I wasn't focused on the short times. If I have too much trouble, I may have to convince someone to let me borrow a better set just to see what it'll run.

He's good, no doubt about it, but he couldn't tune mine for anything other than power. Driveability absolutely sucked, and every time I took it back, it came back the exact same. I didn't want to, but finally had to give up on him and say enough is enough. Couldn't even drive the car, it's been sitting in the garage since May. Finally decided to give Travis another shot, and if that doesn't work, then it's on the either Andrew or Kevin. Someone somewhere can tune this car, just got to find them!
