These motors have the tendency to burn some oil in a lot of cases. So why would you want to push the oil change all the way until the gauge says you need to change it? That gauge assumes that you haven't burned a single fl oz of oil. We all know that isn't true. I'd rather pay for 20 more oil changes over the life of the car than dump money into a new motor.

Not trying to push it, or sound stupid, but if that's the case is it worth it to spend the 100$ for that oil or just get a general synthetic oil?

I personally would never run a motor with the same oil for 15,000 miles synthetic or not. Like I said I run mobile 1 (synthetic) in my truck and I don't go beyond 7500 miles and I don't race the truck or come anywhere near the rpms the coyotes do. I personally have no knowledge of the ams oil but it sounds far fetched.

ive only been gone 7 months and the wife put almost 10k miles on it
now she has her own car so mine will have less than 100 miles put on it in the next 10 months, just enough for her to go to the store and back once or twice a month.
There is a little over 29k miles now.

This is my only vehicle, and I don't have enough "float" money to buy a reliable DD. If I still had my F150, this car would have less that 5k on it still...
