Default c10 ls swap *update post 28*

Well I have finally gotten around to starting the swap in my truck. I have been gathering parts for almost a year now. Been scanning ls1tech, buying from friends or friends of friends. Still have a ways to go, but hoping within the next 2-3 weeks, it will be running. Still waiting to get the heads back from the machine shop.

The shortblock:

How it sets right now:

Building of the wiring harness, about 2/3 done with it:

Thanks guys, been planning it for a while. Trying to be patient and get good deals on the parts. Should end up around 3k total and that's with a fresh motor.

Naa the block was salvageable so it was worth it for me to have a weight savings of an aluminum block. I'll take you for a ride once its all done. I have a few tricks I plan to do with the tune and wiring that I hope works... :-)

Getting closer on the wiring harness. need to order a couple fuse blocks, some relays and find out where i can buy the pins for the computer plug and the tools to remove them. Need to add a couple wires for the fan control to this harness. Other then that and a little loom its ready to go!

Did a little work to the intake, finished smoothing the top. I plan to add a couple coats of filler primer, hit it with a quick sanding by hand to help smooth some of the bumps out and throw some black on it.

Also worked on the heads and got the porting all finished up. Plan to assemble them tomorrow and get them installed! Hoping to fire it up first of next week!

Looks nice man. Why not use an LS1/LS6 intake versus the truck manifold? You looking to keep the bottom end torque?

Yeah low end tq along with price and the truck intakes actually have a better power band then the ls1 intake. The ls6 would be killer but they are too pricy..

I gotcha, and i meant the stock manifolds, not the fast-x ones even though they are VERY nice lol. You can get the stock LS1/LS6 manifolds for under $100 if you look hard enough or come across the right deal. Either way gonna be a sweet swap man! Those motors are bullet proof and really hard to kill. Keep oil and coolant in them and thats about it lol.

Yeah I was talking about the stock ones. Would love a fast truck intake but man they are expensive. I'm just hoping for 400/400 wheel power and 18-20 mpg. Anything more is just a bonus
