Default How do pros remove window tint adhesive?

Just wondering if there is a simpler proven way to remove window tint adhesive than to just scrape it off with a razor blade? Or should I just dish out the cash it will cost to have the tint adhesive removed and new tint installed by a pro?

They use a steam machine which gets about 98% of it off then hit it with a blade to make sure it's all gone before re-tinting. If you need a good tint guy, let me know.

So I've got a steam machine here at home. If I use that what is the exact process? Steam it for a bit then razor blade it off?

Just watched a YouTube of them doing it with a steamer. Never knew that worked.

Peal a corner a bit then stick that steam wand under the film for a little bit and slowly start pulling it off.

When I used to have a job tinting windows we used simple green and a razor. Dilute the simple green a bit.

This would be simpler if the tint was still there. Unfortunately all I've got is glue.

ho lee fuk

Yeah, steam cleaner + razor blade = removing that adhesive like butter. Quite amazing. I'll probably have to buff and polish my windows now though since I'm sure they're probably slightly scraped in a few spots.

Damn, now I wanna try the steam cleaner on my engine bay.

Wish I had this when I was trying to remove my clear bra 2 weeks ago. I was picking at it for 2 hours!
