Default 2nd gear won't work

Push the clutch in, shift to second and grinding and second gear just doesn't work.. help? :/

Hmm. Mine has ground into second gear multiple times. According to the dealers I have taken my car to they have never worked on a 2nd gear issue with an mt82. Bunch a lying crooks.

these MT82's are a joke.....can you spell "tremec"......i can shift my 2012 Focus S quicker than the 2012 5.0......

I've had this experience on another transmission before, it's the engagement teeth on 2nd gear. Synchronizers just make for a smoother shift and no grinding, engagement teeth actually make the gear work. Should be fine to drive with no 2nd, I did it for 6 months back in the day when I was strapped for cash until I could fix it.
