Default Has anyone replaced their battery?

My dang battery is slowly dying. First it died about 6 months ago while washing the car with radio blasting lol. Now I'm getting slow starts. Has anyone replaced their battery with anything other than a ford motercraft brand? It doesn't look like the optima red or yellow tops fit judging from American Muscle and Optima's own website

The Optima's have to be maintained/tendered. Unless it's in the trunk or in the cabin, a simple lead-acid battery will suit you best.

Yep, I have; but I am thinking my car is older than yours.

I had to replace mine right at the 3 year mark (a good run here in the Texas heat) with a Duralast from AutoZone. I've always had good luck with them.

I just ran by the dealership, grabbed one of those Motorcraft Max batteries, stuck it in, and reloaded my tune.

My battery lasted 3 yrs and some change.

Cool. If you still have issues take it over to Ford and have them test your alternator. I was having electrical/battery issues. Autozone and O'reilly would test the battery and alternator and it would show fine.

Finally the car died and would not start without a jump. Took it over to Ford and turns out the alternator was bad. They replaced it a year ago and I haven't had any issues since.
