You don't want to do a "burnout" on a street radial. Just a quick clutch dump to get a little warmth on them. They're not the right compound for doing a sustained burnout, that will not help traction.

LULZ

You can definitely tell though the mods he has done pull like a raped ape up top. He might trap mid 12s in a 1/4 only because of how high he can spin that motor now.

Oh. Well you saved me from doing so. I figure any warming of the tire would help. Thanks for that, Eric.

LOL, yeah that is a good time to bail out. No need to be one of those macho idiots to don't lift and wreck their shit.

Coming from years of racing Fox bodies, these cars are so easy to drive. I know this is your first "faster" car so I'll cut you a break and not break your balls too much. lol.

How did you do your burnout?
Short/long?
Drive through the water?
Burnout in the water?
How much air pressure?
Powershift?

Agreed. A doing a burnout on a radial is pointless. They aren't soft enough to do anything with the heat, the sidewalls don't give at all etc. In fact, a lot of times it makes it worse by making them feel greasy.

Racing on a radial is dicey. You have to find a sweet spot in the clutch and what rate to squeeze the go pedal. By squeeze, I mean just that. Don't stomp it, don't feather it because that will just induce more wheel spin. Definetly don't powershift on radials unless you want to find yourself in the wall on a cold night. lol.

Just dumped the clutch in first quick. Tire pressure left the same, had to drive through the water no where else to go. I have a video from Derek's go pro ill upload tomorrow

My suspension is not setup for drag either

If you didn't do a long, hot burnout on some drag radials then most likely what happened is when you drove through the water box you splashed water in your fenderwells. So after your burnout, you had water dripping down on your tires sitting at the lights therefor causing your serious lack of traction in addition to the water your front tires were tracking. Bad mojo.
