Is there a way to clean or replace the filter?

I'm not sure what you mean by "filter"? There is a filter in the line that goes to the "catch can". Don't believe that has to be replaced.

In the pic, the oil is in the cylinder that is removable; Simply unscrew and empty oil, then replace. No filter in it.

Here is the link:

Well the filter I mean seems like maybe it can be clogged up or gunked up. Don't you think? I'm nonly assuming. It's a filter should be cleaned or replace at one point. I have one and have had it for about 2 1/2 years. Have not cleaned or replace. Just asking.

The "filter" is merely a metal fabric in the line. It is very similar to the "filter" in an automatic trans cooler (although they have different jobs), it is not changeable. It's only job is to collect large amount of oil and drain back when the vehicle is turned off and cooled down. The vaporized oil that makes it passed the filter passes through the catch can where it separates...

I suppose if you really wanted to clean it then you simply remove it from the car and spray brake cleaner backwards through the line. But if you ever got one gunked up or clogged due to oil coking then you probably have bigger issues. lol
