Steve is stock but nick has about 40hp so wouldn't be a good comparison of just gears. Josh and I will have to solve this at the track sometime

x2 and a mexico roll. That will be the big tell. I think the 3.73 v 3.31 cars from a roll will be pretty close with the 3.73 getting a hit and keeping the lead. I don't think it'll matter how fast you go I still think the 3.73 car will pull. I got the 3.73's knowing it was going to be a while before I was boosted. And then I'm sure I can find a 3.31 car who'll want to swap if the time comes. Until then I need some new rims and wider meats in the rear

So you think a 3.73 car will take the cake at the end of the day? Because at this point I think the in the middle gear (3.55s) may be the way to go. I think similar modded cars a 3.73 would have a hard time taking a 3.55 car. But as of now I'm playing the devils advocate lol.

With a DOHC car, one that has more HP than torque and makes it's power at 5,500k RPM and up anything that helps bring you into the power band quicker is better.

With pushrod motors you have peak power and a broad torque curve starting as low as 4k RPM so you want to keep that power band longer with a taller gear.

Although this is useless if you have too much power, or not enough power and how you're putting it down.

I think I saw this somewhere but it's something like this for Mustangs:

350HP or less = 4.10's
350-450 = 3.73's
450-550 = 3.55's
550 and up = 3.23 or 3.31 in our case.
