It was good finally meeting you!

And you believe that I've got oceanfront property in Arizona for sale too. :jester:

Hell, I'll bet you lunch/dinner you don't even bust into the 12's your first time to the track on your everyday street tires like I did. :Moon:

JDBishopArts 03-24-2013 06:22 PM

If he doesn't want the MGW I'll take it.

My everyday street tires are Mickey thompsons and I won't run 38lbs of air in them either. Only a fool would go racing in 48 degree weather and run 38lbs of air. Oh wait you did that

I found it easier to shift my car than I did nics with the mgw..... His is shorter but mine is smoother.

I wanted to know how fast it was with the way I drive it on the street with no changes. I didnt borrow tires, change pressure, change tunes, or have someone else drive my car.

I notice you didnt accept my bet either. lol.

I saw your little challenge, but I'm not interested. My car isn't a track whore, not sure that car will ever make a pass down the track. I've only put 150 miles on it since I bought it and I want to put some miles on the new tranny before I start slamming gears even on the street. I would hate to break something on the ancient car.

It's the same throw... Try to shift into fifth with the oem or ask dark pony about the upr lol

My car isn't a track whore either, but it was fun to go do with a group of friends. :)

You shouldn't need to shift into 5th anyways. I didn't have to in your car either. Hit the limiter in 4th as I passed the line in your car, wasn't even close in my car lol

I'll be at the track with you guys I just don't see myself racing the vert. Any ways do they allow cars as ancient as mine on race tracks

Midnight11 03-24-2013 11:27 PM

Dale just got an 82 and will be there

It's a joke I'm just fucking with Steve since he keeps calling my car ancient. I've had dragsters that where decades older than my vert.

Of course, but you will probably only get one pass if they allow you through tech. under a 13.49 with a vert needs a rollbar.

Unless you go to Dallas Raceway, probably wont be very fun for you at Ennis.

Pepperinyoureye 03-25-2013 02:25 AM

That's kind of been my point. If I go I'll get one pass and be shut down. There is no reason to pay extra for one pass. I'll never put a cage in the vert so it will never see any track time. Now if it was a hatch or a coupe it would be a different story. I got the car to cruise and have fun.

They weren't exactly strict on tech. I didn't use the helmet once. lol.

I think you are missing the point of me poking fun at you. Rowing gears in a fox isn't exactly easy to start with let alone a blown one. Add to the fact you're abit green and rusty yourself it would make for great entertainment. It's no different than me entertaining you guys last friday with my no driving ass. lol. It's all in fun.

Midnight11 03-25-2013 12:05 PM

Rowing gears is hard for Steve too ;)

I've been doing some third gear pulls for practice and I'm going to pick up an MGW. Then it's time for a rematch!

Over the weekend I had a couple of bitch 5th shifts when I was jumping on to I-30. Had it happen twice in a row. Just couldn't get the damn thing to go past the shift gates. Like it hit a damn wall.

Midnight11 03-25-2013 01:19 PM

5th is understandable not 4th

He has to take the technical wins, because he knows he was getting drug up to that point. That's why he was moping around in the pits. lol.

I admitted it, I'm out of practice and I sucked. It's all me, but the shifter will definetely help.

Luke 03-25-2013 01:55 PM

"Technical" wins!! It's not boxing it's racing... IF YOU'RE NOT FIRST YOU'RE LAST!

Midnight11 03-25-2013 01:59 PM

And I'll get better too bc this was my 3rdtime at the track and every run I got better. Plus ill have a line lock soon

He should run low 12s if not high 11s... in a vert you are SUPPOSED to have a cage under a 13.49... When I took my dad's vert to Ennis with the S trim, they laughed as I pulled to tech... they were all seriously? I said, Ive never run it, it might run 13s. lol I ran two low 13s and then they told me to go home.:o

:snoopfacepalm: Line Lock on a Mustang? do you not know how to hold the car with your heel or your left foot?

Yea but rather do a line lock and I won't be the first with one lol

Very true. He got the the wins. He can count them if he wants. I'm sure we will run again. :)

LOL. I was the only one doing heel/toe burnouts without the car moving. Everyone else was doing it John Force style. Well, except for Nick who couldn't figure out how to do a burnout. lmao.

I was thinking the same thing. You can probably get a 2-step for about the same price, that would be more helpful than a line lock.

From the videos it looked like burnouts were a big problem. Makes sense that Nic's 60' was so bad with drag radials, gotta heat those things up. I always did my burnouts in second, better wheel speed and easy to hold.

In all seriousness without any ball breaking, it wasn't the greatest night for racing. The pavement was cold and it was misting on and off. We practically had the track all to ourselves and it was fun even with the less than optimal conditions. In warmer weather, everyone would be running a couple of tenths faster at least.

As for the burnouts, I'm the same. Always in second gear using the heel/toe method. No line lock needed.

Midnight11 03-25-2013 02:21 PM

First manual car also I'm not making excuses too I suck at them . So on cold drag radials I still beat Steve. Guess that says alot of his driving skills lol ;)
