My Hurst in my 07 was perfect but for the reason you stated I didn't go with that in my 12, with my luck I would accidentally back into a cop after a beer or 2.

Hey I've had a lot of mustangs just like you. And I thought the stock shifter in my GT now was great. But then I read about how people loved the difference between the MGW and the stock. And once I did mine it was night and day difference and one of my favorite mod I've done to this car. You'll love it if you do switch shifters.

MGW FTMFW. seriously its a complete housing not just the top portion and it feels so good.

Even with the noise isolators in place in my '05, the Hurst was too noisy. The one in my '03 was the worst rattling POS I've ever had the displeasure of owning. MGW is the only aftermarket shifter I've ever installed that I was completely happy with. I've driven a new 5.0 with one and I can say it is a damn good shifter, the only reason I haven't replaced this one yet is that I don't have any issues with the stocker.

you can tighen up the reverse lockout preload to make it much easier to not go into reverse accidently.
if i dont like it, im sure i can sell it what i paid for it so im not worried.

Never missed a shift with the stock shifter. Shift fast enough to lose traction anyway, so any faster would be slower for traction reasons.

Meh... Maybe when I get wider tires. I'd rather spend the $300-$400 elsewhere, in my opinion.

Call me crazy but I think this might have something to do with people missing third...I missed it twice when I was test driving a car with this shifter...

I've missed third ONCE with this shifter in 5 months. It comes on the 401a cars. I think it's the boss style knob. Shifter is no different than a regular.

That's one of my theories. The other is people suck at driving.

Write up, install and videos on the MGW piece. Although its more expensive than its competitors out there, MGW really did their homework on making this shifter a work of art. Rumors floated around that Barton copied MGW on their shifter bracket design, not sure how much truth there is to that, but it did release thereafter MGW had their first shipment of shifters hit the public.

^yes that one is really hot or freezing depending on the weather...

I have the MGW in my car and it is probably the best shifter out there. Most of the shifter's wont replace everything that can potentially break and MGW does. They also don't shortcut it and leave the reverse lockout in but it is now steel instead of plastic. Although I am not sure if Barton does as well.

I have miss second a couple of times with this car, but that is because I was used to my short throw and short clutch I had in the Mach so I would release the clutch too soon or not push it in far enough. My fault not the shifter. Once I got used to the longer clutch and throw haven't missed a gear
