Really wish I could make this. Damn work

I am Legend 02-19-2014 08:35 PM

Cant wait to kick off the season!!

I'm trying to work out a little scouting report. Does anyone in class 3 remember car number 77 (Blue 335i), what It had for mods, etc?

donutninja 02-20-2014 12:42 AM

Awesome, hopefully I can make this. Curious to see how the car will feel with the wider tires and stiffer suspension.

I think he may have it listed on his YouTube videos?

jrj512 02-21-2014 05:02 PM

Don't forget that you can always move up a class, so feel free to edit your registration to Class 3 if you want to run with the other Mustangs. On an AX course, there is not much difference between V6 and V8 Mustangs, so you won't be out-classed by them.

jrj512 03-04-2014 09:16 AM

The course.

You'll have to defend our honor. I'm doing the ER event on Sunday. Anxious to see what the Lone Star Park lot is like. It's supposed to be a bigger piece of pavement. :)

Hope the rain stays away for both events.

Had enough to kick the crap out of us lowly Fords. As the first of the Mustangs in 3, I felt like the tallest midget when I saw he had something like 4 seconds/lap better. He's all yours for the taking.

DirtyD 03-04-2014 10:25 PM

I'm just going to try to not get last this time, since the chick in the Lotus moved to 3R. Lol

Rain is supposed to come through Saturday night, into Sunday morning. I hope it does stay away for y'all

So you're college fund racer lol. Wish I had my new mods so I could give u a run for your money. I'm stock for now with tires so I had to run STU NOVICE

jrj512 03-06-2014 12:48 PM

I think you guys are severely underrating experience and overrating the vehicle.

Yup. When I first started AutoX, I let a buddy of mine co-drive my car. He was 5 seconds faster than me. I wasn't even all over the place, just inexperienced. He had also never driven my car before and I drove it daily.

Jucostud 03-06-2014 03:14 PM

I don't under estimate that at all. I won my class last week in a stock car lol.

A lot of people appear to think that AutoX is like roll racing. The better your car is, the better you will be. That's not the case.

I already know that guy is quick, but that's who Im gunning for. very good driver in a very balanced car, with the same (or more HP) then my 3v. Should be a good time.

Not at all. I've seen it stated as 75% driver, 20% tire, and 5% car. Works for me, I've got no problem wearing that ass kicking.

Cool. Same class then. It's not me you should fear, the boost buggies should be the car to have, and STU has a terrible PAX number. On the other hand, the pony is just too much fun.

Jucostud 03-07-2014 04:00 AM

Once my mods go on, I'll be in CAM or SM. Stupid LCA and relo bracket rules.

Jucostud 03-07-2014 04:01 AM

And not to mention, intake manifold and cams... And no cats. Yep, cam and SM

donutninja 03-07-2014 10:20 AM

Slightly off topic but since I saw that Tortuga was doing the ER event I looked it up because I've never heard of/been to Lone Star Park.

Google maps Satelite view was taken during an AutoX. You can see the course layout and two cars on the course XD

Looks like the autocross they did for the Corvair club. That's ER's trailer and you can see Andy's silver truck. There is also a Corvair pickup by the trailer. Several Corvairs in the lot, but probably instructor's cars on the course.

BTW, Equipe Rapide started life as the local Corvair club many years ago.

Hey Jarrett,

If it's raining while we are running the course, do the corner workers just stand out there with umbrellas?

Yep. If you have the means, swing by Academy and pick up at least a rain coat and possibly a full suite (pants). Also consider shoes -- soggy socks suck. When it's warm, I just wear water shoes or sandals (switch into real shoes for driving), but in the cooler weather, you need something waterproof. Consider a second pair of shoes and socks in case yours get wet.

Also bring some large trash bags to store the crap you pull out of your car.

Bring a zip-lock for your phone. You can still use it with wet hands through the baggy, and even talk through the baggy.

donutninja 03-07-2014 11:06 AM

Great tips! I'll have my box-o-trash bags if anyone forgets, as well. You can also hit up a walgreens for a Pancho.

DirtyD 03-07-2014 11:17 AM

Weather forecast only shows 40% chance of rain, so hopefully that decreases more, or tailes off towards the latter part of the day. Really don't want to have to mess with that crap.

I may go buy an awning for the hell of it.

donutninja 03-07-2014 09:08 PM

Something came up and I can't make it. Hope ya'll have some great runs!!
