New toys getting installed..... 2.8LC Kenne Bell, Kooks headers, Dynotech driveshaft, 72lb injectors, Barton short throw and custom tune.:chewie:

JDBishopArts 01-02-2014 06:25 PM

I'd skip on the 72lb injectors and get ID1000's. It's going to be fun!

Crimson600+HP 01-02-2014 06:26 PM

Nice, you'll love the boost in power. Save up for tires though :roflsquared:

downtime! 01-02-2014 07:05 PM

Yeah, you'll like the power increase.

I agree!
No point in getting injectors that are "just enough".
Love my ID1000s!

Trey's 5.0 01-03-2014 10:13 AM

Thanks for the info, guess I need to go with the 1000s. Went ahead and add the aluminum driveshaft from DSS also

Congrats on the FI, you're going to love it!

Unless you're planning on going all out on the engine in the future, the 72's will be way more than enough. I run 60's on mine and at 600 rwhp, am getting nowhere near max duty cycle. Even the old tune, at 650 rwhp, the 60's were far more than needed.

If it's a manual trans car, and HPP tunes it, I predict it will make between 610 and 630 at the wheels. It will be ridiculously fun at the track and racing in Mexico, but it won't be fun to drive everyday. You will take it back to them at least 3 times for retuning before they get tired of jacking with you and you get frustrated, let the car sit for 3 months, and finally end up at Gearheads to see if they can straighten out the mess.

If it's a manual car, and Gearheads tunes it, I predict it will make between 580 and 610 at the wheels, and it will drive nearly like stock, just with a bunch more power. You will learn to love your car again and wonder why you spent all that time trying to get it right, when you should have just gone there in the first place.

Ask me how I know this! LOL!

LOL! ^^ This guy is a good example to learn from about the setup though. You have been running yours over a year now right?

Trey's 5.0 01-04-2014 01:46 PM

Ha sounds like I don't need to ask how you know that.... Hopefully and don't have the same problem.. I'm using some guys in Mansfield, JKS Performance, really good guys to work with, good prices and keeps me updated with pix and videos of the progress cause I'm out of the country for a while.. Shootin for 600 so 590-620 I will be very happy with.

All I had before they started was... Borla S-type cat-back, JLT CAI, and a SCT tune and had 396hp/389tq

I've heard a few good things about the shop, I think you'll be very happy with the blower. We're limited as to what the stock engine can handle, and 600-625 is generally safe. The upside to that is, with 600 hp, the car is so much fun to drive it's hard to park it for any length of time.

Trey's 5.0 01-04-2014 02:35 PM

I have nothing bad to say about them and they stand by their work so... The car is fun now, cant wait til I get to drive it again

Doug1227 01-05-2014 01:13 PM

Looks slow..... Lol. J/k! Welcome to the KB fraternity! :)
