Dropping 1.5" What do I need?

I am pretty sure I am going to order SR springs from AM tomorrow. Other than a panhard is there anything else I need to order to get the job done right?

DirtyD 09-06-2012 10:13 PM

Camber bolts or camber plates.

jarheadtex 09-06-2012 10:28 PM

ok good deal..think I will just do the bolts until I upgrade to coil overs

Really everything needs to be replaced to do it right. There is so much that is changed off a drop with a solid axle it's truly mind boggling.

jayman33 09-07-2012 12:37 PM

I would pick up a strut and shock combo, PHB and LCAs. Let me know, I have great pricing on koni and freedom.

jarheadtex 09-16-2012 05:33 PM

Got rid of my 4x4 gap. Hopefully it well settle a little lower.

You should take some day time pics. It's hard to tell with all the glare and your car being black how it's sitting. :)

jarheadtex 09-16-2012 06:06 PM

haha...yeah I will. That was last night after I got done.

jarheadtex 09-16-2012 06:17 PM

fixed

Looks good. With the right set of wheels it will look great. I'd suggest a set of TF Chicanes/Sebrings with a polished lip and a brushed center. That will make that black look sexy without having to do the usual "murdered out" thing. lol.

jarheadtex 09-16-2012 06:36 PM

Yeah..thats a little ways down the road. I will have plenty of time to find the right wheels. Im going to wait until I need tires. For those who are aware, this is the same side that hit the guard rail......

Grandpa 09-16-2012 06:41 PM

Ahhh.

Midnight11 09-16-2012 06:44 PM

looks good! you install them yourself?

jarheadtex 09-16-2012 06:50 PM

Thanks!! Yes, took about 3.5 hours. Now I just need an alignment.

Midnight11 09-16-2012 06:52 PM

nice!! body shop did a good job too!

jarheadtex 09-16-2012 06:54 PM

Thanks!! I was worried about then getting the body lines right ...but it came out good I think.

zemog255 09-17-2012 07:57 PM

Dang that looks good! Stance is perfect to me. Im getting ready to order a tune and o/r mip pipe in the next few days, But I would really like to get rid of my 4x4 look. What all did you use to lower yours?

jayman33 09-17-2012 08:29 PM

Looks good bro, glad everything worked out for you. Let me know when you decide to get some wheels. A nice set of True Forged would look killer!! You could settle with my used set of Forgestar F14's.....:)

Thanks! I really wanted a tune as well. However, I decided to stick with the stock tune for warranty reasons. Im going to get the suspension and wheels done first...then Ill add an OR mid pipe and a tune. As far as what I used, just the SR springs from AM and an adjustable panhard.

Thanks!! I would love a set of TF wheels. I need to pad the wallet for a bit though.

BeastStang1302 11-23-2012 03:18 AM

Hey new to the forum, and your mustang looks great lowered btw. I'm looking to get mine lowered as well, and I wanted to ask if the adjustable panhard was really necessary when lowering your car? Also, did your ride quality change much?

DirtyD 11-23-2012 03:46 AM

Adj. PHB is a must when lowering so that the rear end can be recentered under the car to correct tracking/alignment issues that may arise.

Phuck Phace 11-23-2012 02:28 PM

Looks good OP.

Dan12GT 11-25-2012 03:30 PM

The drop looks great! Makes me feel good about how mine will look once I get around to installing my BMR springs which is a similar drop.

Mdelongpre 11-26-2012 03:28 PM

hey how are those sr springs holding up?

they are still my top choice due to the price

pohnjarker 11-27-2012 02:42 PM

looks good
