I'm an Amsoil dealer

Forgot to tell you guys but I am also an Amsoil dealer. I own an auto shop in Keller area(north Fort Worth). I can't remember exactly what I pay for oil change on the 5.0 but when I do it I usually buy a case(12qrts) and filter. I think it's like 7 dollars a quart. It's the signature series 15k miles oil with 25k mile filter.

Let me know if interested

BLK2012GT 09-16-2013 01:44 AM

Thanks that's good to know.

pohnjarker 09-16-2013 04:39 AM

I'm interested...i'll hit you up when its time for my next oil change and pick up a case and filter. time to switch from stock motorcraft!

Oxford14Stang 09-16-2013 08:20 AM

Supertech 5w20 for life!!!! Haha j/k. I'll spread the word.

DirtyD 09-16-2013 09:29 AM

Can you get any type of amsoil oil? I'm looking to switch to either signature series 5w20 or 5w30.

BlueBolt 09-16-2013 09:42 AM

Holy cow. That's a good price. May consider hitting you up and switching from mobile 1 to amsoil. Could you ship or would I need to come to you to pick it Up?

BV600 09-16-2013 09:44 AM

Dirtyd he should be able to. Luckly everyone is in dallas area here that's where they ship from I gave up trying to sell amsoil products.

Dominic Toretto 09-16-2013 02:32 PM

When I was a dealer, I was able to get any type. $7.00 a quart is a fantastic price! I'll be hitting you up soon.

Penn Ultra for me.

Bacadiesel 09-24-2013 04:16 AM

Yes I can get any Amsoil. I use signature series 5w20 on mine. I don't deliver cuz I get it delivered to my shop in north Fort Worth.

G-Mann 09-24-2013 10:06 PM

Good to know. Thanks for the info.

Dominic Toretto 09-25-2013 11:39 PM

I'll be due for an oil change here pretty soon. PM me your shop phone number and a price quote for a change with 5w30 plus filter please. Thanks!

$90 for 5w30 signature series case 12qrts
$11 dollars for Amsoil oil filter for the 5.0

This is the good stuff. 15k mile oil and 15k mile filter. But I still change mine around 7k

re-rx7 09-27-2013 03:06 PM

Jesus. thats 70+ dollars for an oil change that 90% of people here dnt even need. Penn Ultra and a FoMoCo filter for me.

Bacadiesel 09-27-2013 03:11 PM

Well it's a case, so you have 4 quarts left over

Bacadiesel 09-27-2013 03:12 PM

The 5w30 oe series is $60 for a case

2/3 of $90 is $60 + a filter =70$. Why is amsoil better then say Penn Ultra?

BLK2012GT 09-27-2013 03:57 PM

I don't think it matters what oil as long you change it every 3-5k miles. With saying that I'm sticking with amsoil.

re-rx7 09-27-2013 03:59 PM

3-5k seems extremely short as well.

Bacadiesel 09-27-2013 04:29 PM

If you want to send me a sample of your penn ultra when you do an oil change I can send it to black stone labs. I will also send a sample of Amsoil from my car and we can see how much difference

Im down. Im at a lil over 5k right now with an open element filter which may add to the silicone content. What mileage do you suggest we do this at? What Amsoil are you running?

Bacadiesel 09-27-2013 04:36 PM

I'm not too sure how much mileage I have On this oil but the oil life meter says 45%. I was thinking of changing it at around 30%. I'm running 5w20 signature series with Amsoil filter.

I'm gonna guess I have around 4k miles on this oil

Sort of off topic but, do you recommend staying with the 5w20 or switching to 5w30? Most people I know are using 5w30 even though Ford says 5w20.

Im on 5w20 as well. Ive already reset my my meter and plan on running it till about 70% then changing which should be about 6k miles.

5w20 w/o a doubt if you mostly daily.

re-rx7 09-27-2013 04:46 PM

The reality is that motor oils do not need to be changed because they thin with use. It is the eventual thickening that limits the time you may keep oil in your engine. The limit is both time itself (with no motor use) and/or mileage use. The storage of motor oil in your garage, particularly mineral based oils, slowly ages the oil limiting its use later. Do not store huge volumes of oil in your garage that is exposed to extremes of temperature.

re-rx7 09-29-2013 09:38 AM

No need for a thicker oil. Thicker oil does not protect better.

Rebelracer568 10-08-2013 10:06 PM

Ams oil is the best oil on the market 10k oil changes easily. 15 k if you run it in your diesel. To bad it it out of my budget

Bacadiesel 10-08-2013 11:19 PM

Oh I just found out its 25k mile oil and filter. It's grade 4 oil. Penn ultra is grade 3. I've got oil sample kits ready to send to the labs.

I'm not trying to sell you guys Amsoil, I'm just offering it because we friends. I'm not making money off it. $7.50 a quart.

:snoopfacepalm: you cannot be serious??? Please explain why ford recommends 5w-50 in the boss mustangs, and gt500's but only 5w-20 in the standard 5.0s when bearing clearances and engine tolerances are exactly the same on all three engines? I have torn apart and built every one of the mentioned engines and yes they ALL have the exact same clearances factory, but some require thicker oil then others? Engine tolerances along with intended usage is what decides the weight of oil you should run in your vehicle.

Rod and main bearings are what typically get destroyed when the wrong weight oil is used. I can show you dozens of bearings that failed due to the engine having too thin of an oil in it..

I was never a big amsoil nutswinger but I recently tried it in my truck. Before with mobil 1 and castrol synthetic oils 10w-30 it would make around 60 lbs pressure cold and 40-45 hot. I put amsoil 10w-30 signature series oil (which we stock at Truestreet) along with the same brand (wix) filter and it now makes around 65-70 lbs pressure cold and does not drop a single lb when it gets hot. Thus far it has been an incredible oil!! Also note I plan to change it around 4k miles. I am a huge stickler on changing oil, $50-60 for an oil change every 3-4k miles is cheap insurance to ensure and have piece of mind that you are giving your engine it best chance at lasting a long time. Just think about all the money you throw away for auto insurance that most will never need....

Take it for what its worth, but I have tried about 6 different brands of oil in this engine over the past 8 months (mostly due to just getting them on sale at oreillys) but there is a HUGE difference in all the brands out there. This all comes from personal experience having used these brands in similar 100+ degree texas summer heat.

re-rx7 10-09-2013 10:57 PM

Ive already explained why.
