Q: what about a v-8 engine like in a Lexus SC430?

A: No. Large cylinder engines such as a V8 probably won't work. :Wedgie:

Actually...most of the questions are funny

I've recently been seeing some posts on SVTP about some Coyote owners having an issue with batteries draining. Kinda weird how they all happen around the same time frame. Thankfully I haven't had any issues to date. I only started my car once during the icy days and it started right up with no issue.

vast temp variation is my guess.
Last month we've had quite a few 50 degree up and down drops in temperature.
Combine with those that park outside and drive everyday..rain sleet or shine.

Personally, I'm planning on a yellow top Optima soon. Dry cell FTW!

Part of the battery issue is probably because so many people believe that modern car batteries are 'maintenance free' like some are advertised. Truth is, if the cells can be accessed by a cap then you have to check the water level and add distilled water before the plates are exposed to air. Otherwise you will certainly have shorter battery life.

I'm surprised mine wasn't dead after sitting at the body shop for over a month. My mom's car barely started today after not being driven for a week

I just replaced my battery at 2years old and 11k miles. I didnt drive it for a month and ended up with a bad battery. Its garage kept so cold wasnt the culprit. I wanted a yellowtop anyways. Ive used them in all my vehicles and have never been let down.
