Intake for a Non-tuned Car

I plan on keeping my car untuned and thus, stock power-wise, until the warranty expires. This car is my daily and I don't care for a tone of mods right now. It's more than enough fun as is. So with that being said, I would like to add an intake to compliment my axle-back and wondering what versions do you all recommend for a non-tuned car. Thanks in advance :)

Air raid is pretty nice. Has an insert to stay untuned. Relive the insert and tune it when you want later on.

I have the Airaid CAI. Love it. i'll be removing the insert later one when I do my cat deletes and tune it.

Keep the stock box.

Midnight11 08-30-2013 07:38 PM

doing a non tuned intake is pointless

BLK2012GT 08-30-2013 08:55 PM

Keep the stock box

Unless it can easily convert to a tune required version...

Rebelracer568 08-30-2013 09:53 PM

Stock air box or a c&l with insert.

All these answers are correct.

Truth. Ran a K&N carbon fiber closed box with no tune for a while and there is no gain whatsoever. All the gains are in the tune.

Dominic Toretto 08-30-2013 10:59 PM

Not necessarily looking for a gain in horsepower but, wouldn't an aftermarket intake breathe better than stock regardless if there is a tune?

If it didn't yield better power how could it be breathing any better?

DirtyD 08-30-2013 11:04 PM

Only purchase an intake that can be used at both tuned and non-tuned. Only way to do it. Either the C&L or airraid.

I too ran a K&N, and ditched it because it was useless with a tune, and maybe have me a few ponies up top because I did feel the upper RPMs were a little more potent.
