I called around today. Dealer Service dept quoted me "starting at $1400 for that job."
The dealers' parts depts I called didn't have in stock but were quoting me $506. I ordered new AC Compressor w/ clutch assembly off fordparts.com for just over $400. Hopefully it'll be in Monday... I'm fairly handy.. replaced trannys, clutches, even swapped motors before on past cars.
Still have no clue why this would go out on my 2.5 year old car. I think previous work a dealer did on my car caused this, but no way to prove it. My 15+ year old Altima w/ 160K was blowing ice cold AC today with original parts..
