There are so many vehicles under $10k on craigslist/autotrader that will last you another decade. 2006-2009 Honda Civics are hugely abundant and get amazing gas mileage. Some warranty issues but Honda covers all the big problems with extended warranties with unlimited mileage and unlimited number of owners.

The Fit is overrated. Id take a focus over it.
