Really? Any stock auto Vette off the showroom floor will run a 12.1 @ 117? I did not know that.

I don't know about any...I am just saying mine did. I am also by far not the best driver. There is a fast list on the vette forum showing a lot of guys doing 11s, some as low as 11.6s all stock on stock rubber. Track conditions were real good for me too. 1500 DA and 65 degrees...

Oh, I know. Ranger and those guys rent out MIR in late December every year to make hero passes with -2000 DA and buckets of VHT. Still very impressive but they ain't gonna run those times at Ennis in June.

I agree. However, it does show the amazing potential of those cars be it a LS3 or LS7 car in stock or lightly modified form to which a 5.0 can't compete with.

Stock 5.0 vs stock LS3 Vette = drivers race.

Stock 5.0 vs stock Z06 = Z06 by a bunch.

Bolt-on 5.0 vs Bolt on LS3 = Vette with ease

Bolt-on 5.0 w/boost vs LS3 h/c/i = close race

Bolt on 5.0 w/boost vs h/c/i Z06 = Z06 by murder

Haha, yeah I know what you are saying. Honestly, I've always thought comparing a Mustang vs the Vette really isn't a fair comparison considering the Mustang is a 2+2 coupe and Vette is a two seater sports car, but this conversation is about answering the OP's original question.

A more fair comparison would be the old Camaro vs Mustang conversation in which the new Mustang dominates in every way.
