This is the country route I use. I have been on this route several times and it's a lot of fun to drive. Lots of twisty, winding roads through the countryside between McKinney and Sherman.

I will be doing it again here the next couple of weekends. Anyone is welcome to tag along. I was going to do a cruise GTG, but getting this group together is just too much of a PITA if it doesn't involve drinking or a stop at the doggy park.

Starting at TrueStreet -

1. Head north on N Tennessee St toward E Erwin Ave
2. Turn right on E University Dr
3. Turn left onto Farm Market Rd 1827 N New Hope Rd
4. Continue onto Co Rd 470
5. Turn left onto Farm to Market Rd 1377
6. Turn right onto Farm to Market Rd 545
7. Turn left onto Tx-78 BUS N
8. Take the 3rd right onto Farm to Market Rd 981
9. Slight left to stay on 981
10. Pull into grass lot for break/ pictures.
11. Turn right out of grass lot onto Tx-78
12. Take first right onto 981
13. Turn left onto US-69
14. Pull into gas station for refueling break
15 Turn left out of gas station back onto US-69
16. Turn right to stay on US-69
17. Turn left onto 697
18. Turn left to stay on 697
19. Continue onto E Ida Rd
20. Turn left onto Tx-11 E/S Dewey Ave
21. Take the second right onto 1417/ Old Dorchester Rd

22. Lunch/Dinner break in Sherman

23. Do the whole route in reverse to go back.

It's about 61 miles on nice, quiet country backroads. I love this drive.

President G. Bush Turnpike, northbound from Rockwall all the way around to Lewisville, no fuzz on that route. Open her up to about 100 - 135 mph when you feel the need.

Steve, let me know when you plan on doing this. If I'm in town I'll go. Me and the gf enjoy a good county back road "road trip"
