He sells more Foxes than anyone else in the area and will make a deal, up to a point (he won't lose money on them!). Know going in that most of his cars are bought in need of work, which he then does, before selling them. The cars won't be perfect, but they won't be junk either. Usually good starting places to work from, with most needing very small things like trim pieces or just a good cleaning. He's also a great contact for Fox parts as well.

Buy an early year coupe, gut the hell out of it, install ls1 or similar with stock cam, full exhaust, good intake system, 2.73 gears and a manual... Enjoy 30+ mpgs on freeway..

Or, just buy a 97-99 Vette with a stick and call it a day. You can get em under 10k now.

Sometimes I can't believe you are a finance guy. If he had that kind of money for a beater he wouldn't be looking into hoopty foxbody 5.0's that are just going to be moneypits and/or get stolen. lol

if you want good gas mileage, keep it in the light car 4 cylinder range, or a ford ranger/s10 single cab short bed with a 4 cylinder. They're light enough to still get 22-24 mpg with moderate driving. My s10 got great mileage and i dogged the shit out of it. My v8 dakota now gets 20 on the highway if i keep my foot out of it. But thats given nothing is in the bed, and i have i/h/e, cat delete, and electric fans lol.

Which is great for a track car taking a lot of driver error out of the equation.
