The new motors and oils are different. I had a 2011 silverado and the dealer techs even said 10k per oil change. Same with the new fords.

I have a 2011 silverado that I run mobile 1 in and I always change it at 7500 or less. I never let my oil life gauge get below 15%. I don't trust those stupid gauges, they are man made and will break. My brother blew his motor doing the 10k oil changes. Once upon a time motors would run for 250k to 300k miles, now guys are blowing them with 100k and under without abusing them. Are they cheap built motors or is it the 10k oil change?

By the way my father in law has been a Chevy tech for over 30 years and changes his oil every 5k.

The motors in your Silverado and your Mustang are treated completely different. You don't spin that LS motor to 7500rpms racing it all the time like you would your Stang. Why take the chance? Stretching your oil that thin is a bit absurd.
